Obelisk

On 12/12/20 at 8 years, level 19, and 753 stats, Obelisk died.

Obelisk knew her time was soon, and to make her last day special both hunting parties hunted side by side. The first group, the one that she was a part of, consisted of Vergil, Beatrice, Apollyon, and Atlas. And the second made entirely of her children. They hunted together and Obelisk dealt the finishing blow, bringing down a bull. 

Once back the pack shared the prey, with Obelisk being able to get her pick first. And that night the pack celebrated her accomplishments, her scouting making it possible for Dante to travel as far as he did, her keenness allowing them to know of danger in the territory, and her strength bringing a strong bloodline into the pack that was sure to stay.

After the celebrations she rested,  two of her children, The Inquisitor and The Herald, staying by her side the whole night, and when she finally passed The Herald let out a howl, soon becoming a chorus as the rest of the pack joined in. They didn't mourn her death. They celebrated it. A new life started for Obelisk, and one by one the pack would join her.

On 12/4/20 at 7yrs 8months, level 19, and 740 stats Obelisk finally retired as Scout. Despite her old age she rejoined Beatrice and Vergil's hunting group. They accepted, knowing that time has made her more reliable. At this old age she knows she can no longer keep up with the duties of scouting as well as she used to, and wants nothing more than to be able to still run. With pack members at her side she knows if she gets hurt she'll be safe.

She's happy knowing she raised all her pups well with the help of Ata and Hyze, who made up for her forgetfulness. She spent one last day scouting with her child who likes to call herself "The Inquisitor" before announcing her retirement. Her position was taken over by "The Herald", her foreboding child that reminds everyone of a Solar Eclipse. Along with the three leaders she senses greatness in all of her pups. but only time will tell.

Obelisk came to Inferno on a whim. Dante and his mates quickly noticed how she carefree she seemed to be, never really caring who or what goes where. 

Despite this they allowed her to join, and gave her the role of hunter. She was okay at it, but everyone could tell her heart wasn't in it. One day while all the wolves besides the resident pupsitter, Ata, were gone Obelisk asked Ata if she could help watch the pups, telling her she was bored of hunting. The she-wolf was uncertain, knowing how Obelisk was, but agreed due to Obelisk's persistence.

Ata gave her Beatrice's two male pups to watch, and happily noted how attentive and playful Obelisk was with them. Trusting Obelisk to watch them Ata focused on her pups.

Obelisk chased the pups around camp, and when they asked eagerly led them to the outskirts. The two soon got tired though and curled up to take a nap. Obelisk watched them for a little but quickly became bored, forgetting about her charges she wondered off.

While walking she came across Hyze, she eagerly greeted him and told him she was going to try out scouting. Obelisk told him to take it easy and immediately ran off.

Hyze got a sickening feeling in his stomach. Feeling like something was wrong he quickly made his way back to camp, coming across the two pups Obelisk abandoned. He was quick to snatch them up, confronting a sleeping Ata. He angrily questioned her, and Ata almost fainted from fear. She explained her half of the story, telling him she didn't expect Obelisk to abandon the pups like that.

Ata started crying at the thought of the pups dying and Hyze comforted his former mate. The two talked and agreed that for now they would keep quiet about Obelisk's actions. But if she proved to be a bad scout they would tell the leaders of her actions and have her chased from the pack. 

When Vergil and Beatrice came back Hyze told them that Obelisk wanted to try scouting, and since Ata was having trouble he decided to be a pupsitter.

Obelisk was none the wiser to everything that happened, forgetting she even had wanted to watch the pups
