Wander -> Strix
Her pup name was wander, as before her parents realized that she was deaf she would constantly wander away and ignore her parents' calls to come back. When it was her time to choose her mature name, Strix brought her mother an owl feather. She had chosen the name Strix, the great silent owl of legend from Ostra's homelands.

Strix is deaf, and communicates primarily through non-verbal body language.

Deafness runs in her family. Salem had a deaf brother who he grew up alongside for many years. During this time he picked up a non-verbal language in which he uses to communicate with his daughter. He and her sister Aven are the only ones who can consistently make out what she has to say, and even Ostra struggles with the language barrier occasionally.

With Salem's dying words, he revealed his daughter's premonitions to his leader Arid, who took it upon herself to work one-on-one with the young wolf. Appointing her Wayfinder and doing her best to learn ways to communicate, Arid began to learn truly how special the young wolf's gift is.
