The grandson of the first leader, Alpha Rykenah, Raunain has always felt he was destined for more responsibility than a simple hunter or scout. The Gods gifted him with antlers at birth, a gift that had not yet been produced within their own pack until he was born, and future Alpha Kaine took an interest in the young male, given their shared gift.
Kaine took Raunain under his wing and viewed him as a younger brother, encouraging him to become a great hunter and then a scout like himself, but Raunain wanted more for himself. He didn't have a mate of his own but he witnessed the pride Kaine had upon seeing his offspring grow and a spark was lit inside the young male.
He watched every antlered challenger lose to Kaine when they sparred for the title of breeding male, and took note of his weak spots and strengths over time. When he finally felt confident enough to win, he challenged his Alpha Male and although it was a close fight, he used his prior knowledge of the older male against him and struck him down, leaving a permanent mark on the other male.
He still has no mate, and he's far cockier than he used to be now as official breeding male, but his bond with Kaine remained unbroken and he still relies on the male to show him the proper way to scout so he may keep his strength up and fend off any challengers who come to spar with him.
