There once lived a Princess; fair and loved.
Her kingdom was prosperous, and she grew without hardship. Until The Blight came and took all the good and the plenty from the land. The people grew weary, and the kingdom soon fell.
A Hero came to save the day.
His sole request that the King and Queen be punished for neglecting the people in their time of need. The Hero took pity in the Princess and had her be sent to live among the common folk with the promise that if she learned humility she could one day reclaim her crown.
The land flourished under the Hero's care. The Princess grew bitter and resentful.
She cursed the land to misery but her wrath brought The Blight to herself instead.
It clung to her. It became her. It cursed her and her kindred to live as animals, blood-thirsty beasts. The land changed with her into a merciless swamp.
