Kayuqtuq

The dishonest leader, reviled for her previous irresponsibility but admired for her work to repair the damage caused by her younger self. She once loved Nunataq, but that admiration has long since faded. In her later years Kayuqtuq is caring but reserved, not rash as she once was. She often bears a distant look of reminiscing- and regret. Kayuqtuq resents Ukiuk for choosing her but admires him as a leader. She has chosen Erwen as her heir.
Kayuqtuq was born to Ikiaq, and is the sole remaining member of her bloodline in the pack. She only mates with Nunataq with hopes to pass on her renowned bloodline.
Despite their differences, Kayuqtuq is distraught by the passing of Nunataq. The leader only becomes more morose by the day- reminded of her impending death. She hopes the pack will never go through famine again.

On her last day as leader, Ukiuk visits her under the light of the full moon. They lay together in silence as Kayuqtuq falls asleep for a final time.
