Brussels was a kind wolf, born with a special pelt that matched the Spanish moss of the swamp. She spent a lot of her life in her pack, helping out with pups and going on hunts. Due to her special pelt upon coming of age, many wolves came up to her with the prospect of being their mate. It all felt shallow to Brussels, they only cared about the rarity of her pelt and not her. Getting tired of rejecting suitors for years and being pressured to take a mate by her leader, she left. One night she walked off, exploring aimlessly and finding herself in the desert. It was cold, and she was getting tired. She almost gave up on finding a safe place to sleep and just laying down where she stood. Until a almost dreamlike wolf approached, her coat was shimmering in the moonlight, and her white eyes glowed. Brussels felt starstruck upon seeing Abigail, who was excited to see her. The nagging feeling of her coat came to mind as the she-wolf smiled at her. Hesitant, but tired and cold, she followed Abigail to her pack. There were many other shimmering and dreamlike wolves there casually walking around and tending to pups. Brussels was almost in disbelief, so many rare looking wolves in one pack. Brussels brought it up, the rarity of Abigail's pack. Her reaction won Brussels over. "Well we don't consider ourselves rare, there's so many of us it'd rather absurd to call ourselves rare. If we were rare we're not anymore, being rare is lonely you know?" Brussels spent the rest of her days being a close companion to Abigail, their friendship growing close. Brussels finally had her own litters of pups, each litter having at least 2 pups sharing the same special coat that led her to leave her old pack. She raised them by herself, not really wanting a mate, her friendships were fulfilling enough to her. She raised her pups with the values that they had personality. They might look nice, but wolves that wanted them only for their looks were shallow, and they needed to love them for them. Abigail made her feel normal, made her feel wanted in a way she always craved. Instead of a shallow partner, she found a meaningful deep friendship that lasted the rest of her life.
