while patrolling the edges of Die Nacht Kinder's territory, Selkie got slashed in the face by a grizzly but ended up submitting & besting him in the end. she will likely carry the facial scar for the rest of her life. (12/15/2021)

Selkie was basically minding her own business in the Taiga. The dark she wolf was in search of food stuffs for her ever hungry pack near a crackling stream when the eagle struck. She supposed it was a brooding female, since they're always in a temper.
The tussle was brief but hot, with the bird just barely flapping away in defeat. Die Nachtkinder's alpha was triumphant, but the feather brain's razor talons left a lasting tear under one of Selkie's silver eyes. As she observed her reflection in the stream she noticed it was just above the healing gash awarded by a scrape with a hulking bear that past autumn. (01/30/2022)

The taiga had betrayed her again, as another facial scar was acquired by Selkie in early Wolvden spring. A young rangy black bear, woken from his winter slumber had been snuffling and ripping at an elk fawn carcass that the Alpha wolf had smelled from some length away.
The she had loped casually around the edges of the bear's feeding area as if she was inspecting the new growth herbs on the knoll. When the creature paused in his feast to bite away at some parasite on his rump, Selkie took her chance to win away the meat. The bear however was very hungry and had struck at her back legs spinning her towards him and thus the battle ensued.
Her face was becoming a storied map of her experiences as Alpha of Die Nachtkinder. (02/12/2022)
