As the only living decedent of Sunshine's Firstborn, Hornet's Shine has a weight that lays heavy upon her shoulders that she isn't entirely sure that she is prepared for. As her mother had, she is expected to stand at the side of the Bringer of New Horizons and guide his path when need-be, though it is rare that her word will ever come before his.
Named for her mother's original name before she gained her title under the first Bringer of New Horizons, since her birth Hornet's Shine has been a driving force in the pack. Wolves too intimidated by the Bringer of New Horizons to wait upon him defaulted to her and her mother to show their thanks, and despite the ease of life that came from the treatment, she grew a bit frustrated by the denial of opportunity to live as any other wolf would. In the past cycle she had grown a bit snippy with her mother, though she now lives in regret of her attitude following the sudden passing of Sunshine's Firstborn. Thrust into the role of which she had hardly begun to resist, Hornet's Sting feels more than a bit overwhelmed, and combined with the death of her mother remaining heavy on her shoulders, she's not entirely convinced she was the best choice for this position.
While her father is rumored to be a wolf from outside of the pack as Sunshine's Firstborn sought to find a proper sire for her final litter in hopes of producing a proper heir to her name, Sunset's Warrior has raised her as one of his own. Following the death of her mother, Hornet's Sting has come to rely on her father more and more for support and advice, and his bitter mannerisms do nothing to help her rise out of the rut she fell into following her mother's death.
