Shalza was born to an exiled she-wolf and all of her life she had never lived in a clan. Her and her mother lived as a duo travelling lands and seeing what the forests had to offer. She enjoyed this life, she did not miss having a mate nor a big pack around her, mother was all she needed.

At one point, Shalza's mother began to fail catching prey and often spoke of clans living near mountains and the Prairie who would accept Shalza into their ranks. Offended, Shal had playfully pounced her mother, but she was old and the weight of a healthy female like Shalza was too much. Mother had her last breath and passed with a smile on her muzzle. Shocked, the she-wolf ran away from the body of her dear mother and companion. 

After a few days she had met another older she-wolf and they teamed up. Soon after they had met a couple of wolves who asked to join them and in time to form a clan.
