Creampool was a precise little girl who wanted everything to be perfect. If a toy wasn't put away or a mess wasn't cleaned up, she couldn't sit still until it was put right. If the adults around her didn't take her concerns seriously, she was likely to handle them herself, with mixed results. Her cousins made fun of her for days after she tried to wipe up drips of rain with poison ivy leaves and spent the rest of the day biting her itchy paws. But her mom and pupsitter Snowwind were there to comfort her and remind her how strong she was.
At the Academy, Cream took her strength training very diligently, as a perfectionist would. She was also assigned Effective Killing, Prey Tracking, and Howling lessons in preparation for finishing work. And she took those just as seriously. When it came to the last lesson, she chose Socialization because life was about more than hunting, after all. But for the first time, she didn't do well. She was upset, but Snowwind explained that it was a blessing in disguise. There is no such thing as perfection, especially not in relationships and relating to others.
During her apprenticeship, Cream went out on the trail with her mom to see what finishing work was all about. She was fine when all she had to do was watch, but when it came to actually grabbing the prey, it was very hard. She kept trying to do it perfectly and hesitating just a moment too long. The other hunters got frustrated with her and complained more than once. Finally, her old pupsitter Snowwind reminded her of what she learned from her last lesson at the Academy, that there was no such thing as perfection. Cream realized that she would have to get over her perfectionism more than ever in order to be a successful hunter.
Now as an adult, Cream is much less a perfectionist than she was as a youngster. She still likes things just so, but she knows how to let it go when there are more important things to worry about. Being a finisher doesn't really allow for perfection anyway, so Cream's work life feels chaotic to her. Perhaps in response to that, she likes to keep things somewhat orderly at home. She never drinks fermented barley and if a packmate gets drunk, she's the one making sure they get to bed safely.
