Flare Star

During the lesson: The lesson today focused on relaying information accurately among pack members. Flare Star sat with several other pups as they whispered the same sentence around the circle and tried to keep it the same, but when it came back to Tamara it was hilariously different than when it started.

During the lesson: Flare Star tested out some killing techniques on the carcass. Barry explained which methods take the most strength, but are also the quickest, which saves energy and spares the prey from suffering.

During the lesson: The good manners lesson went awry today when Flare Star started inventing bizarre and funny excuses to make everyone laugh instead of learning how to apologize with respect. Coyote was serious in scolding him, but he noticed her smiling when the other pups weren't looking.

During the lesson: Mari rolled the toy in deceptive scents today - dung, dead fish and even an ant hill! Flare Star had to focus really hard to separate multiple scents entangled together to find the toy.

During the lesson: Flare Star's brow furrowed in concentration as he worked on guessing which herbs placed before him were poisonous and which were not. Acanthus watched with interest.

During the lesson: Flare Star was a bit disappointed with his voice after the next howling attempt but adults always say that it will change for the better with time. Flare Star believed them, but can't that day come sooner?

During the lesson: Flare Star was reminded to work on his attention span. While his physical condition was perfect, Flare Star needed to fight the urge to use every opportunity to play.
