Nanoak's lone mother never wanted to have pups, but when she discovered she was pregnant from a Pack's leader, she was beyond angry. Once she delivered, she weaned Nanoak as quickly as she could before dropping her off on the edge of the first Pack border she could find. Nanoak was old enough to realize what had happened and even when she was readily taken in by Dioute and his large pack, she remained quiet and detached. However, when realized how many other pups were her own age, she fell in quickly and gained her voice. She is very smart, as complimented by others, but she won't recognize it. She simply is grateful to have a Pack, though she does often yearn for kinship. She has made close friends with Thao, Ayu, Allegewi, Nisco, and the newest pup, Saunee.
As she grows older among the Pack's next generation, she is unaware that many wolves believe her to be full of moral strength and destined for leadership. As an adult, she was close with anxious Saunee and to help him with his nerves, she advised him to watch pups as his duty. She began to love him and after some nervousness from him, he admitted his feelings to her as well. After Appalachia passed and winter came, Dioute led as strongly as he could, but he was weakening. She took up a role at his side to make good relations with the Pack and the elk and prepare for her role. She has grown close with Dioute and his life and she is anxious for the near future where he will join the ancestors.
Now that Dioute has passed, Nanoak took up the role with more strength than she believed she possessed. Most of the Pack looks up to her, despite her youth. She and Saunee run the Pack well and keep their relations with the Elk herd. She also more recently gave birth to their first litter, two daughters, Danohgwa and Nyoa.
She led Wapiti Run for most of her life, with her gentle mate Saunee by her side, until he finally passed of old age. Now she lives out her days quietly, with the utmost respect from her pack and the Elk herds.
