Name: Oath

Ferroniére was a little worried when she noticed that her son had more leading qualities than her daughter; Jaculiferous was too vain and Jigamaree always went with the crowd. Juramentum was observant and as patient as a pup can be. But The Spoorless had never had a single male Alpha. Her grandparents were an Alpha pair, just as thing should be, but her mother never had had an Alpha mate nor had she. Still, she started training him. He learned how not to only take care of the pack's physical wellbeing but also their emotional state. Even though Juramentum was too single minded and easily distracted by new things, she would make sure that her legacy would succeed.

Then one day Ferroniére found a young female wolf. She was just a little younger than her own litter. Ataraxia had no pack to call her own anymore and because she so reminded Ferroniére of her own pups she asked her to joint the pack. Little did she know of the effect the young wolvtress would have on her son.

Juramentum decided from the beginning that Ataraxia would be the One. She was so very beautiful. If only it would have been just that, but no, time proved that she was smart and wise, took other wolves into consideration when making decisions, and even though she liked to be on her own sometimes, she was also kind to the young and elderly. So it was decided, she would rule the pack with him. There was just a little problem, Juramentum needed to speak to her. And not just about taking her as a mate, but to speak to her at all.

Juramentum and Ataraxia had lessons together, they were sent scouting together, they ate together, they rested in the same caves and sunspots, and they spent time with same wolves. But for over half an year neither spoke a word to each other. To other pack members, and especially to Ferroniére, this was quite painful, for it was too obvious that both young ones were pining for each other and the only obstacle they had was their own shyness.

On the last day of winter on the the 20th year, Ferroniére passed away and Juramentum stepped in her place as the Alpha of the Spoorless Pack.
