Name pronounced Koh-rey.
Daughter of Ralik and a male from another pack named Savaki.
Fate has been more than happy to train this heir to the throne, just as the current alpha trained him. He can see the look in Eternals eyes however, when she talks about how proud she is for one of her sisters pups to take her place when the time comes, but he knows the truth. Eternal is depressed. She will be the first Alpha of the Vakka pack who doesn't have a child of her own capable of taking over. The alpha still does a good job of not letting the young pup see the other side of her.
[A hunting pack stuck on a hunt and the Dreamer predicting bad omens has lined up a little too well.]
"They're gone. We've looked everywhere, and we just can't find them!" Vidalia was on the edge of hysteria as she spoke, her eyes wild, "The hunters have been searching, Fate and I have tried to find their scent and its as if they just vanished!"
It had been only a few days after Kore took over that the hunting pack had gone out and not returned. Now everyone feared the worst. It wouldn't have been like them to leave, most of the team had been her cousins, royal blood in high standing in the pack, and another had been a pregnant female. They wouldn't have just left the pack without somewhere to go.
"Keep searching! We have to find them and make sure they're okay! We have to bring them home!" she ordered, and reluctantly Vidalia left. It wasn't until she was out the door that Kore realized she had probably needed reassurance and support. That really wasn't her specialty.
Instead Kore waited a moment for Vidalia to clear out properly, and then left the den herself. She made her way to the general dens, and slipped inside. Here many of the pupsitters remained, few pups to watch right now but they didn't have the skills to track down their friends. They jumped to their feet and approached their young alpha, asking a barrage of questions. She hesitated, looking back and forth between them.
"Hey! Leave her be, if she has news she'll share it!" growled the eldest pupsitter, a lonely gray male named Rhyme. Kore was relieved when the others listened, tucking tail and giving her space back to her.
"I'm sorry, I have no new information. We're still looking. I'm here to see Dream." Kore spoke calmly, trying to sound more confident than she was. Rhyme stood, shaking off the dirt and stepping towards Kore.
"I'll take you to her."
------
Dream was a pupsitter who moonlit as a hunter on occasion. She rarely spoke, and when she did she had strange things to say. Unusual stories, strange predictions, things the pack usually didn't want to hear. Most often though, she slept. That's why Eternal had called her the Dreamer as a young pup. That's why they called her Dream.
Kore approached the sleeping wolf, watching her tremble and twitch as she faced something. She could only imagine what was happening in that mind, but she didn't truly wish to know. Still, she had questions, and maybe The Dreamer had answers.
---------
Months had passed with no word, and unfortunately even the Dreamer didn't have a solution for the issue at hand. Only omens of worse to come and visions of the missing team somewhere the rest of them had no hopes of reaching. They had given up the search, there was no point when they knew the others were gone. They had fallen out of the world, and they would return only when and if their fortune improved.
Still, it was no consolation when they found Kai had passed. He was older, but many of the pack were quick to say he had died from a broken heart. The male had all but worshipped the ground his mate Helena had walked on, and when she vanished she had been expecting a litter of their pups. The poor old wolf had died not knowing what happened to her, or what happened to their litter. Had they been born? Were they alive and well where they were? No one had any answers for him, and he had only grown more distraught when Kore had been forced to call of the search.
Now she regretted it, not that there had been any good options left to take. She would continue to look for solutions, to speak with neighboring packs and see if anyone could help her. She didn't think help would come, but she did hear stories of packs that had experienced similar things years before. Something about another world, wolves disappearing, strange pups seen in the mists and the night. There had to be some sort of solution, and Kore swore to Kai's memory that she would do everything she could to bring Helena, her pups, and the rest of the hunting team back to the pack.
-------
At 3 years and 3 months Kore received a small scar over her right eye from a bobcat. Shortly after, Kore received a similar scar on the opposite side, also from a bobcat. (Seriously wth!
)
Sometime early in her forth year Kore was wounded badly on her side. (Unknown source, had it in my inventory and I know she had to get it from a fight but I don't remember it happening. Oops) In her fifth year she gained a forehead scar and a scar on her left front leg, also from unknown sources. (I need to pay closer attention, the events have almost murdered me.) Earned a second left front leg scar at some point. Earned another small left eye scar from a pack of lunar hounds just a few days before retirement. Even closer to retirement received another side scar from a Pherris Feline Maurader. Then another left front foreleg from a cougar in a mysterious cave.
