Saiph, one of the first pups taken in by the new Sirius's song, was raised to be a quick-thinking, formidable hunter. He shadowed Mintaka as a pup, and soon grew to be in her hunting party. When she passed, he gained the role as Orion leader. He is an incredibly skilled chaser and coordinator.
He refuses to retire, working as party leader as long as he can. However, he understands he must die and so has taken on an apprentice, Koeia, to replace him when he must go
