Naomi's Backstory

"Oh god, who could've done something like this" Nevaeh said picking up Naomi in her mouth. Naomi was just 2 weeks old when she was found in a basket by her adoptive mother Nevaeh. Nevaeh was a part of an extremely small pack but was also the omega. The pack barely being able to provide enough food for its current members meaning they weren't accepting anybody else. Some weeks before Naomi was found Nevaeh had given birth to one pup named Nova. She hadn't yet told anyone that she only gave birth to one pup so she disguised Naomi as her own. Naomi was a quiet pup but adventurous pup. Her pack lived in the plains but there was a forest nearby and she would always bring her sister along to explore it with her. That was when they had the chance. Naomi and Nova were the Omega's daughters meaning they had it the worst. When they were only pups they were tasked with doing things like foraging, healing sick pack members, watching the younger pups, finding their own food, and much more. Naomi never had much time for herself and had to mature quickly. She was fed scraps if she couldn't figure out her own food, had to act as a servant for the pack alphas, cleaned most is not all of the other pack members dens all for her to be treated like she was worthless and truth be told she was sick of it. Nevaeh tried her hardest to help her daughter but was stopped by the pack alphas because they believed she needed to earn her keep in the pack if she didn't want to get kicked out. So, she continued working tirelessly every day. Her sister on the other hand was fed up. When she hit adolescence she began rejecting the alpha's orders to do this and do that. She stole food from them and purposefully ruined any plans she knew they had. When they found out Nova was aggressively chased out of the pack banished and was never to return. Before leaving Nova promised Naomi that they would see each other again. Devastated Naomi and her mother were left to fend for themselves in the place they called home. That was until 2 months later a terrible illness fell upon the pack and Nevaeh was one of the wolves infected. Naomi tried desperately to help her mother get through it. She spent days and nights trying to figure out a cure but in the end, Naomi was too late. She woke up one day to her mother calling her in a ragged voice. "N-Naomi you must leave now I've left a note on your dresser read it and go". 'What no! I can't leave you here." Naomi begged. "My time has come, now it's time for you to fulfill your destiny," Nevaeh said. Naomi sighed "Fine." Naomi said before going back to her room and grabbing the note. She gave her mother one last embrace goodbye as she went off to begin her new adventure.

Naomi's Story

"Naomi, my beloved daughter. I have left you this note for when the time comes. Travel North into the forest and don't stop until you find what you're looking for. You'll know when you see it. Along the way, someone will be there to guide you, to assist you in doing what you meant. For now keep going and don't stop I will explain everything when I get the chance. Sincerely, The Moon Goddess, Merrow." These words have been repeating in Naomi's mind every day since she left. It had been a month now she had no idea if her mother was ok but she did as she was told. She ran North into the Forest and hadn't stopped unless for food. But she wasn't alone. A dark wolf named Tala ran with her. Tala had been with her since she entered the forest Naomi was aware she didnt know much about this mysterious wolf but she also knew that she needed all the help she could get. After weeks of traveling together, Naomi & Tala created a strong bond kind of like Mentor & Apprentice or as the humans would say, Teacher & Student. Tala didn't seem very old not that Naomi bothered to ask but for the age she was Tala was extremely wise. Naomi had learned how to hunt, find sources of water, the best places to sleep, and a lot more with Tala's guidance. Naomi was just 9 months old and searching for something she wasn't sure existed…..3 months later Naomi was still traveling North. On the day of her birthday when she finally turned 1-year-old Naomi. She now had immense leadership skills and when the time came she knew she would be able to form her own pack. Tala had taught her well..that's at least what she thought. But the truth is nothing could ever prepare her for what came next. While still walking North Naomi came across a line of glowing white flowers surprisingly heading the way she was. Curious, she followed them for about a mile until they came to a stop. Confused she looked up to see a giant portal. It looked abandoned and there were vines completely covering it. "Tala, do you know what this is?" She said but heard no response. Naomi turned around and Tala was gone. That was when she heard a voice coming from the portal. "Naomi, my beloved daughter, please come join me." drawn to the voice she did as told. When she approached the portal lit up and she entered it. "Where am I?!" she growled to the wolf approaching her. The wolf had gorgeous blue glowing jewelry on. Her fur sparkled her eyes as blue as the sea. And to Naomi's surprise, she looked kind of like her. "Relax my child, you're in the palace. Please allow me to explain.". Naomi nodded in response knowing there wasn't much else she could do. 'When you entered you passed out it didn't take long for them to find out and you were carried here by the twins. Naomi, you now in the Enchanted Forest. I can't stay for long communicating with you has been draining the little power I have left. Please speak to the twins I assure you they'll answer everything you want to know and assist you in fulfilling your destiny." Merrow said slowly before fading away then Naomi woke up. "Hi! I'm Hazel" a squeaky voice said. Naomi looked down from her bed and saw 2 small identical pups wagging their tails. "And Im Hayley!" the other pup said. "We were sent here by Merrow to answer your questions when you arrived," said Hayley. "Sorry for frightening you we're just really excited! Its been 400 years since Merrow passed and we've been waiting for you to arrive! Hazel explained. So, Naomi started asking a LOT of questions, and the pups gave answers arguing with each other every so often. It had been 6 hours since Naomi arrived she learned many things, but the most important one of all was that she was the daughter of Merrow, the Moon Goddess. She didn't believe it at first but Hayley was quick to explain. "Before Merrow's disappearance, she had given birth to you. She knew you couldn't be raised here, so for the first time since she entered the Enchanted Forest she left. She never knew what the consequences would be. When Merrow entered the portal she was stuck. In an infinite hallway where time didn't continue. She walked with you for hundreds of years until she finally broke through. Merrow had finally left the forest, but hundreds of years passed, and neither of you aged. You were 2 weeks old when she gathered up the strength to bring you to the closest wolf pack she could find and she watched as you were taken away by a wolf named Nevaeh. Merrow knew she couldn't return to the Enchanted Forest so she created us! Me and Hazel returned to the forest in place of her. We hold all of her memories and all of her knowledge. We were sent here to guide you in becoming what you were meant to.". "And what is that?" Naomi asked. "Well Queen of the Enchanted Forest of course!" The twins responded with a smile on their faces. With the twin's help, Naomi began her rule over the Enchanted Forest. Every now and then Naomi leaves the forest to find lost, unwanted, or neglected wolves like herself and gives them purpose in the Enchanted Foresters Pack.

The Legend of Merrow

During a cold winter night getting ready for bed Naomi asked her adoptive mother, Nevaeh to tell her a story before bed. "As you wish," Neveah said while tugging a leaf blanket up and over Naomi. "Hundreds of years ago someone nobody could ever imagine existing, existed a shimmering wolf was born. This wolf was like no other her eyes as bright as the seas, her coat a golden brown with some blonde, and her fur sparkling like stars in the night sky. Her name was Merrow. Merrow was born into a small pack with little members and little defense. She was cherished greatly and treated like a goddess. When born word of her sparkling fur spread fast. In no more than a week hundreds of animals came to see if a wolf like her could have ever existed. Along with that rumors also spread "She's an angel" one wolf said "No! She just has a mutation." another growled. Merrow, just a pup listening to all these rumors and gossip about her caused her a lot of stress. Even she didn't know what she was. To cope she dreamed. Dreamed of a place where she didn't have to worry about anything. A place where the Moon ruled over forever, a place where trees and vines grew like never before, a place where creatures shimmered like her, a place where there were fluorescent butterflies, and glowing plants, a place where she knew she belonged. Merrow was only an adolescent when she heard of the growing threats of pack takeovers to steal Merrow and eventually those threats took place. On her first birthday, she woke up to the sounds of howls, growlings, and cries for help. She quickly left her and her mother's den to see what was happening. A pack of 50 wolves had come for her and she knew her pack wouldn't be able to fend them off. Watching the chaos ensue Merrow heard her mother calling. She ran there with no hesitation and saw her mother lying on the ground dangerously injured. "Run Merrow run." she heard her mother say just before hearing her last breaths. It didn't take long for 5 wolves to go sprinting toward her so she did as her mother said and ran. Merrow had been running for hours now with 10 wolves on her tail. She ran, ran, ran, then dreamed. She dreamed of the forest she had seen, the beautiful night skies, the overgrowing trees and vines, the creatures she dreamed of, then she ran into those dreams. Merrow stopped running when she saw where she was. Her dreams came true. She walked farther in farther into the Forest and it didn't take long for her to be noticed. "Hello my queen, may I escort you to the palace?" one of the squirrels from Merrow's dreams said. Hoping for everything on her mind to go away, she followed the little squirrel to start a new adventure leaving the portal she came through behind. After 7 years of ruling over the Enchanted Forest Merrow vanished. As centuries passed without its Queen the Forest began to lose its light. The trees and vines stopped growing, the creatures stopped shimmering, the plants stopped glowing, and the moon stopped shining. To this day the forest still waits for the next Queen to arrive." Still awake Naomi asks her mother "Well who will the next queen be?". Nevaeh smiles and says "That's for Merrow to decide when the time comes". Little did they know Merrow had already made her decision.
