There for Cairhorn from the beginning, Thicket has always been dedicated to her friend and mate. Her duties as Companion, Mother, and the pack's Lead Scout is nothing to sniff at, and she takes everything very seriously. For many, she is the most reliable, and the voice of reason, where Cairhorn himself is the logistician and guide. Where she speaks, he acts, and where she acts, he listens. The balance in their co-leadership is an important one.

While Blackberry was adopted by her and Cairhorn, the young female was not raised in siblinghood to Tumbleweed. Officially she and Cairhorn are the parents, yes, though it was Wren and Miner who Blackberry slept near at night, and who took care of her emotional needs. Not to say they were cold to her of course, they were not cruel, she was just adopted in hopes of not only giving her the home she needed outside the enclave, but also the hope she'd grow attached to Tumbleweed. A bit of an out-of-character move on her and her mate's part, but it worked out well in the end. After all, they'd feared at one point that their son would die, and Blackberry would have been a suitable second in line should tragedy strike.
