The first lead wolf of the Ash Warriors. When she was young, Cassandra was visited by the spirit of Inari in her sleep. In her dream Inari urged her to flee from the catastrophe that threatened her pack's territory, and that only ashes and tears would remain if she stayed. Ever since she was born, she knew that her dreams were often prophetic in nature, so Cassandra desperately begged her pack to move, to run away. Despite her best efforts to help, her warnings were ignored by her family. Cassandra was the only survivor of her original pack, that perished that night during a forest fire. Cassandra spent many seasons helping and leading the wolves she would meet during her travels, and eventually settled in the Woodlands, where she would finally start her family. Her first pups, Aiolos, Ker and Eos were fathered by Inari, after finally meeting face-to-face.Â
Cassandra led her pack with diligence and fairness for many years, but she knew her time in this world was short. Before she reached 5 years of age, Cassandra suddenly fell ill, as she had foreseen in her dreams. Succession was called into question, and many believed her daughter Ker would take on the role of leadership, being the strongest and fiercest wolf in the pack. Or maybe her youngest, Hawke, who was crafty, smart and reliable, despite only being an adolescent at the time. Cassandra, however, told a heavily pregnant wanderer called Arlathan that her unborn child would be the one to lead the pack after she was gone.Â
The pack was at a loss, but they honored her wishes. The day after Fen'Harel was born, with fur and skin and eyes as dark as the night, Cassandra was no more.
