Luther had always struggled to find a pack that would tolerate his lazy and carefree attitude, not that it was ever a primary concern for him anyways. His birth pack was extensively overcrowded, and food had always been stretched thin amongst all the members. Too little space and food were the main reasons why he had elected to abandon his home in search of, what he would consider, a more comfortable living situation. Several attempts were made to join different packs in the nearing areas, but Luther's attitude had always been his downfall. The pewter male was now well into his adult years and found himself trekking through a dense forest he hadn't recognized before. There were several faint scents in the area, most likely belonging to the pack that inhabited this forest, and Luther stopped a moment to admire a few of them. He continued on his path, and it wasn't long before he had encountered a youthful blue wolf.
Inviting the adolescent to join him was just as surprising to Ilse as it was to Luther, having never been one for socialization or well-thought-out ideas. Their first few nights together were quiet, and Luther was secretly thankful for that, despite not even knowing the accompanying wolf's name, though it didn't bother him too much. "Um...I still don't know your name.." The youth finally broke the silence after several days had passed, and he licked his muzzle from the rabbit before him, his icy eyes staring at the darker figure with curiosity. "Luther." Replied the pewter male as he continued to gnaw on a bone from a separate meal, not seeming to care much about the youth nearby. "Oh...I'm Ilse." The younger male spoke softly before finishing up the small meal. To others, it might have felt like an awkward situation with silence thick in the air between them, though neither of them seemed to mind it. A slight breeze began to stir above them, soon bringing Luther to his feet as he noticed the scent of another wolf nearby. Ilse picked up on his body language and followed, his ears flat against his head with uneasiness. Luther's eyes were glued on a dark figure and narrowed as the wolf came into view. "Who are you two!? What pack are you with, and why are you in this territory!?" The chert female questioned the two of them with an apparent snarl on her muzzle. "We're not with a pack, just lookin' for somewhere to sleep." The pewter male responded in a casual and laid-back manner, seemingly unaffected by the female's attempt to be hostile. The stranger noticed the younger male, and her snarl faded. "You a pupsitter?" She questioned him once again, a calmer tone in her voice as she spoke. "I guess you could say that," Luther answered with a small smirk and a glance at Ilse, who was still unsure of the situation.
Several minutes passed between the three wolves as questions were asked and answered. It wasn't long before Luther and Ilse found themselves following the female, known now as Klara, back to her pack in hopes of joining. She had explained to them that there was a desperate need for pupsitters, and Luther had somehow signed himself up for the role without realizing it. The trio soon came into a clearing where many wolves were spread about, each of them soon noticing the newcomers and pausing their activities to watch them. Luther felt slightly uneasy as they waited for the Alpha to be notified of their arrival, his fur bristling with anticipation. Hazel eyes were the first to be seen by the two as the large male emerged from the nearby darkness of his den; his appearance seemed laced with annoyance at the sight of the young stranger accompanying the pupsitter and Klara. "Are you hard of hearing? I asked for pupsitters, not pups!" The Alpha snapped at Klara with a snarl, obviously unamused with the thought of having another young wolf around. Ilse cowered slightly behind Luther, his tail down as he watched the larger figure approach. Luther's expression was calm as Isaak glared down at the pair and was relieved when the male growled and turned back towards Klara. "You bring me any more pups, and I'll have your hide." The hostile male threatened her before heading towards a sitting warm-coated male on the other side of the clearing. This encounter with the Alpha had left Luther to wonder if he had made the right decision in bringing Ilse along with him to join the pack, though worries soon faded as time went on, and each wolf soon grew comfortable in their roles within Die Unbekannte. Neither one of them forgot their time alone together, and their bond remained strong throughout the years.
