Biography
Adopted by Dustfur and Dovesong.
WING
Puphood
She and her adoptive brother, Flight, used to spend a lot of time with another pair of adoptive siblings: Fallenleaf and Fishcale. She got along very well with each of them individually, but when it came to the four of them playing together, she often found herself reprimanding her brother and Fishscale for ganging up on Fallenleaf.
She was definitely the brains of their little group, Fallenleaf was the mellowest and the other two the troublemakers.
Adolescence
Her three friends went on to train to become future hunters, while she stayed with her father to learn everything she'd need to replace him as herbalist.
Though she kept in touch with her brother and friends, they weren't as close as before, as she spent every second she could in the herbalist's cave assisting her aging father.
Adulthood
With Dustfur's passing, she officially took the role of the Light Walker's pack new herbalist. She was fast and resourceful, efficient in treating wounds and other illnesses.
It was around this time that Oakshade, the pack leader, also passed, and her young son Redwood was pushed into her role. They didn't have much contact at first, only considering each other acquaitances.
Wing got into a pairbond with a chaser only a year or two older than her: Stormwind, son of Stormcloud and Windy.
With him she'd have Snowdrift, a pupsitter turned chaser that would become Redwood's mate for life.
The pack was struggling under Redwood's lead, but they got around. The wolf was clearly overwhelmed, he had no idea what he was doing and he barely had any contact with his pack's members.
Wing finally stepped up and knocked some sense into him, which marked the start of a lifelong friendship. Redwood would often (too often, Wing would say) go to her to ask for advice, and later on he and Snowdrift would even help her with her herbalist duties.
She was very close to her first daughter, who she raised to be confident, stubborn, and self-sufficient. Snowdrift was the only one that Wing didn't feel annoyed by when her work was interrupted.
Two years after having Snowdrift, she had a son, Feather, with the pack's breeding male: Lightwalker. Lightwalker was not much liked by the other wolves of the pack. He was often antagonising and barely had friends, if any. Because of that, the pack struggled to accept Feather, who was starting to show signs of the same arrogance as his father, but Wing and Snowdrift fought for him and in the end he was able to stay in the pack. He went on to be much more like his mother, and hunted as a stalker on the same party as his half-sister.
During this era, Wing broke her pairbond with Stormwind because of disagreements, but they stayed on friendly terms.
This slowly got better over time. Redwood got more involved with his pack, the newer hunters became more efficient and as a result Wing had to treat less injuries. Lightwalker redeemed himself in his last years before passing away peacefully and Wing formed a pairbond with Puddletoad.
Her brother Flight and Fishcale had their own offspring: Fisher, Rain, and Sunset, who would take their place as hunters led by Fallenleaf, who was training pups of his own.
Wing was looking for a heir of her own, so with Puddletoad she had Dune, a lovely pup who was just as gentle as her father and as smart as her mother.
When Dune was ready, Wing moved to the elders' cave to live her last years in peaceful retirement, taking care of her very last pups Sprout and Fawnspot.
Her retirement plan was thrown upside down when Fallenleaf died in an unfortunate accident during a hunt. His pups were too young to take over his role, so Wing stepped up and became the stalker of the Song Of The Hunt hunting party.
Once Dancing Leaves at Dawn was old enough to hunt, Wing retired for the last time and finally let herself rest.
Since her adoptive mom was a pupsitter, she spent a lot of time with her as a pup. Wing is fast and resourceful as a herbalist.
She takes her work very seriously and and can become snappy when she is interrupted or distracted.
Redwood, the pack leader, likes to spend some of his free time helping her with her duties. In return, Wing gives him useful advice on how to approach specific members of the pack, insights on their relationships, their needs, etc.
