♀ 片目 Katame

片目 Katame, meaning Half-Eye or One-Eye was named for her Black and White hetrochormia eyes, making it look like she only has one.
(In Japanese, "目 me" or Eyes always refers to both eyes and thus "片目 Katame" is more literally "One's Eye" vs "Half Eye", and is used when talking about just one eye; counting for eyes would be like ~ 蜘蛛には8つの目が付いており ~ Spiders have 8 eyes; "目 me" can also be used with other counters to indicate order, like in the case of "1日目 Ichinichi-me" which means "first day" or "Day 1").

After her mate ジャスパー Jasper died, 片目 Katame felt she had no place in the pack even though she had her son 青金石 Seikinseki and her half littermates, 小鷹 Kotaka and 烏子 Kurashiko, and her mates sisters pups, 銅 Akagane and 橄欖石 Kanranseki. This was due to the fact that it was not accepted that the blood of a leader should ever mix with the blood of a deputy, as it could lead to a monopoly of the packs power, and so the birth of 青金石 Seikinseki had been looked down upon by the rest of the pack.

But it was her fault and it was the packs way to never allow any pup to feel as they should not have been born and so 青金石 Seikinseki had not received any of the packs disapproval while 片目 Katame suffered the worst of it without 青金石 Seikinseki ever realizing. That was until one morning when 片目 Katame was not to be found in the camp and her poorly disguised scent trail lead past the packs territory markers. No one tried to go after her as it was also the packs way to let wolves go where they please, if they returned they would be welcomed with wagging tails and if not the pack would still remember them.

"Goodbye my pup, please don't think this means I don't love you" 片目 Katame whispered as she past the territory marker looking back towards the camp, "but this is for you, as I will just be a burden to you if I stay. Grow strong and become a loyal member of the pack, my pup, as I could not." And with that she turned away and plunged deep into the forest, far away from the pup she loved.

片目 Katame let her paws guide her, pines gave way to oak forest and soon open grassland with mountains dotting the horizon. She never really noticed where she was going until she couldn't go any further and had to double back due to sheer cliff faces that rose up high into the sky. In doing so she scented that she had crossed into another packs territory by mistake and began to try to find her way out, but the rustling of a bush some length in front of her told her it was too late and she'd have to face this strange pack, alone...

Will this new pack be friends or foes? Will 片目 Katame find her new home? Or have to fight for her life??

A lone wolf stepped out of the brush, one eye black the same as hers. Wait, it wasn't just one it was a hunting party, she trembled, then stood tall, trying not to show fear. They said nothing while they surrounded her... They started walking toward what sounded like a thunder storm.

They were running now, her in the middle surrounded by the hunters and they were leading her somewhere. The bush started to thin. They picked up the pace to a full sprint, straight into a barren plains with hundreds of lightning bolts striking the ground, too many to count! "Don't stop" the wolf behind her whispered, or was it beside her? Another lightning bolt broke above her and one even closer and another struck a rock beside her. The first bolts made her ears ring so loud everything sounded like her head was under water... A feeling she didn't like. The words rang in her head, 'dont stop' she doubled her pace. Running as fast as her heart and legs would take her....

She could smell the first wolf. It was the one with the same eyes as her, the leader and fastest! Using the last of her energy to try and pass the lead wolf! WHAM! She didn't realize they were already in a cave? Her adrenaline was pumping so hard it took her another minute to realize she ran straight into one of the biggest wolves she had ever seen. Her heart sank, would he kill her for this? Was she prey?

The massive wolf leaned forward, "damn your fast! Hahaha, I'm Tenno the leader of this pack. Surviving the lightning fields is no easy task, if you are a lone wolf... I would be honored if you would hunt for us"

She smiled and stood confidently, "It would be my honor." She bowed her head, I think I found a home
