The fifth chieftain of the Pack of the Blood Hawk, Smoke happens to be the very first female chieftain. Out of all the heirs he could have chosen, the former chief Copper gazed upon young Smoke and decided she was the one who would take his place. Upon the death of her grandfather, the black she wolf ascended to the throne. In Copper's final days, both royals agreed that perhaps the clan could benefit from a new terrain and so they led the wolves in their care from the western mountains to the northern tundra. This proved to be a terrible mistake though as the pack found poor hunting in the north. Worse, they had moved there during the torturous winter. Wolves were starving but there was not enough food. Smoke quickly did whatever she could to fix her mistake, leading the pack back south to a coniferous forest. Even then, the pack still struggled to find food at first so only time would tell whether or not her plan worked. Fortunately, the plan seemed to work and the pack grew in numbers. This led to a few famines though as there was not enough food for everyone and more wolves were joining the pack. After one such famine and the sudden death of her father Shadow, Smoke knew she had to do something to insure the survival of the pack so she prayed to their god Blood Hawk. However, someone else answered her prayers… The pack elders noticed that the formerly trusting she wolf was much more bossy than usual and it's said her eyes glowed purple. As more time passed, she became more malicious. Many claimed she had become possessed by a demonic entity. Realizing there was nothing else they could do for the wolf that was once their mother, Smoke's surviving children Sukarno and Little One led a rebellion against the possessed soul. The battle was won but many lives were lost, including Smoke. Freed from the grasp of the demon lord Bone Viper and with the guidance of the deity Blood Hawk, Smoke ascended to heaven.
