Merlin - 'Merl' to his friends - came to the Roundtable when it was in need of an attentive leader for the Gale Strike hunters. When the Pools of Laughter told him of the opportunity, he was not aware he would be taking over many other tasks. Which he completed valiantly, until other capable hunters joined the group.
