Great Great Granddaughter of Atlas and Isla
Name Meaning: diamond in the sky
Born: Mountains; Spring
'The diamond of the sky'; a fitting name for a wolf that shines as bright as the stars in the night sky and is as beautiful as a diamond. Her beauty draws the attention of many wolves, while her lineage drives away just as many.
She doesn't understand why so many fear her mother, for she doesn't see the tyrant that others see. She doesn't remember much of the place where she was born, nor why her pack left. She also knows nothing of the family remains there, or the ties that her mother severed between them. The closest thing she has to outside family is her caretaker, Talia, who practically raised her. She cares deeply for the elderly wolf, a figure that is just as much a mother to her as her birth mother.
She didn't know at the time, but her elderly caretaker was doing much more than just keeping her away from trouble. The wise old wolf, after seeing what her mother turned into, took it upon herself to raise the young princess. Unbeknownst to the queen, Talia tried to raise up the princess to be a kind and forgiving ruler and instilled in her the importance of family and upholding tradition.
Because of the guidance of her caretaker, she grew up to be a kind wolf with a strong sense of leadership. It wasn't long before wolves took to adding 'the Kind' after her name whenever they spoke of her. Though she doesn't resemble Atlas in appearance, she carries the same sense of duty and family that he possessed. When one looks at her, they see the eyes of Isla and the soul of Atlas, and those who know of the great leaders find faith in those truths.
When she was just barely past adolescence, Kya was tasked with caring for her two younger half-bothers. The first time she saw them, she instantly fell in love with the two little pups. She often spent more time with them than their own mother did, and for this reason, they were raised almost solely by their older sister. As they grew, Kya noticed the extent of their personalities.
Asterisk was quiet. Reserved. A calm presence that stayed off to the side and watched. Cassander was violent. Malicious. An evil force that enjoyed wreaking havoc on any creature that he could. Kya was appalled by the evil streak that her young brother possessed. She tried her best to care for him and teach him, hoping to break him of his spiteful tendencies.
It was all in vain, though. So, as they grew into adolescence, Kya distanced herself from Cassander, focusing all her attention onto Asterisk. The two became very close, even more so after the disappearance of their brother Cassander.
When she was still just a young adult, a stranger arrived in their territory. He was met with uncertainty, but Kya was quick to approach him. Ryder, as he was called, was a lone wolf, a wanderer with no home. He was a kind and caring wolf, if a little bit scatterbrained, and him and Kya became fast friends. Their friendship continued to blossom and grow. After many months, they became more than friends, until they were finally married.
