Now, Aella spends most of her time on the far-reaching ends of the territory, serving the pack as a scout.

Increasingly anxious at Aella's antics, she agrees to join her for a meeting by the riverbank at dusk alongside her half-brother. Once they were by the river he turned on them, killing Aella and violently besting Astera in battle. She nearly passed but was saved by the mercy of Atlas and the sorrow of her sister, Melia, the medic. She remains in the pack alive, though has fallen from beta and become low rank due to her weakness.

Sudden pessures from leader Aella on Astera to increase her strength and wisdom have left this she-wolf having sleepless nights. Strange looks and bristled fur from her mother and mentor have left her desperate to ensure that everything will be alright. She has been fiercely directed to study peace and patience. This has caused her to wander late at night, observing and practicing thoughtfulness under the blanketing silence of the tundra under the moon. An unusual horizon for the pack appears to be thawing under the ice waning winter.

Named Astera, meaning "starlike."
