A mysterious wolf has wandered from ancient, distant land. She speaks with a strange lilt and her eyes are somewhat… unnerving…

"I am Brenna" she says softly. "A mortal wolf who has been bound to the faelcu. To earn my freedom, I must travel as far as possible and bring them the knowledge of lands not known to them. Might I stay awhile?"

Brenna stared unblinkingly at the pack leader, Aviala after asking her request. The wolves around the den whispered to each other in confusion and curiosity, none except the leader truly understanding what was happening. Aviala was suspicious, the faelcu were tricksters after all. She had given up her own pack's puppies to try and stop them, and she wasn't quite fond of the idea of housing one of their own.

However, behind those haunting eyes the she-wolf looked earnest and pleading, not to mention tired from walking so long in the desert. As she debated on her decision, one of her pack members, a bright orange female named Kiara, walked up to her, ears folded back in nervous respect.

"With all do respect my leader, I think I may… know of this wolf a bit?"

Aviala raised an eyebrow. Kiara continued,

"Roamer told me that a wolf from the glacier had been taken during the autumn while
the strange spirits were at their peak. It must be her, I believe we should let her stay."

Kiara's mate was a male named Roamer from the Eska Creek pack up north, and he was a trusted friend to Spur Hollow. Aviala mulled it over for a second longer, and then decided.

"You may stay here for a week, nothing longer. We will be keeping a close eye on you."

Brenna slowly smiled, her glassy gaze unbreaking. She thanked Aviala, and made her way into the traveler's den without another word.

As birdsong hesitantly walked towards this traveler that claimed to be bound to faelcu, birdsong looked at brenna very carefully she seemed to be making sure that this wasnt a trick,after all she had gone through with the spirits and their tricks she had been more careful but as brenna looked straight into birdsongs eyes..birdsong felt like she could trust this stranger..she gave brenna a nod before walking towards the center of what seemed to be the packs camp. soon brenna saw many wolves starting to appear from the shadows of the trees,bushes and their dens, one wolf seemed different from the rest, he was excited to have another traveler come to the pack. the other wolves went along with their day but this one wolf approached brenna..

"Hello traveler! my name is thunder of coming storm.. but everyone just calls me thunder, what's your name? Where do you come from? Why did my alpha seem to be scared of you?" the wolf introduced himself

"my name is brenna, i came far away from here and i am bound to faelcu that's why." Brenna answered thunders questions

"Well, are you hungry, do you want to see our territory? there's lots of pretty scenery here in the mountains " thunder smiled

brenna looked at thunder before answering " i guess getting some food would be good" she answered

"alright! This way, we have our prey pile hidden in one of our caves underground so it doesn't attract other predators! " thunder explained as he led the way underground to the prey pile.
"Here you can pick whatever you want to eat!"

brenna took a look at the prey pile before turning to look back at thunder.
"What do you suggest for me to eat? i'm not sure which prey tastes the best in the mountains"

as thunder started explaining what prey tastes the best at what time of year and what month, brenna couldn't help but smile a little at his rambling
after a while brenna decided after thunders suggestion to eat a rabbit

It had been a few weeks already and brenna and thunder had spent the time together but this morning thunder was nowhere to be seen..as brenna started looking around the packs camp she noticed thunder coming towards her with some sort of herb crown in his mouth.

"Good morning! I got this for you so you can have something to help you this pack and me in your travels! i know you're not leaving yet but..i can't help but feel sad knowing you'll leave on to continue your travels one day.." thunder said in a sad tone as he put the herb crown onto her head

"Well I'm not leaving yet.. So let's create the best memories we can together" brenna said with a small smile, she had grown fond of thunder these past few weeks even if she tried not to, she too felt a little bit sad knowing she would have to leave eventually but she was happy to get to spend time with thunder

the time seemed to fly past too fast but one day everything stopped..the herbalist of the zero sevens was doing a check up on brenna after she had felt ill.. that day she learned something shocking

"you're not ill don't worry…you are expecting pups which has caused you feeling ill, i can't really help with feeling ill if you're expecting pups" the herbalist usva said

"but- i cant- i cant be expecting pups! what if the faelcu-" brenna started panicking

"brenna, don't worry you and your pups are safe here, this pack might not show it but thai pack will protect everyone of its members even you, even if you're a traveler you're part of this pack" usva said in a calming tone which helped brenna to not panic but she was still scared..she couldnt help but wonder how thunder would react? would he hate her?

"don't worry. thunder won't hate you, he doesn't have it in his heart to hate anyone" usva said as if she had read brennas mind

"how-"

"hush don't question the herbalist, go on now, you need to tell him about your pups.." usva said as she started sorting the herbs some of the pack members had brought in before

brenna took a deep breath before she stood up and walked out of the herbalists den
as she looked around the camp looking for thunder she felt like someone was staring at her but when she turned around there was nobody…

after a long day of scouting around the territory thunder returned back into the camp exhausted.. but still he was looking forward of seeing brenna

as he walked towards brenna thunder could see something was bothering her

"brenna what's wrong?" he asked clearly concerned

"i…i am expecting pups…your pups" brenna said, not daring to look at thunders face..it felt like the world had fell silent

"brenna..thats..thats awesome! I'm going to be a dad!" thunder howled happily

"it is? .." she asked as she turned her head to look a thunder whose face was full of happiness

"yeah! It's great!" he took a break before continuing " i promise to take care of you and our pups don't worry about that..i won't let the faelcu do anything to you or the pups" he said as he looked brenna straight into her eyes..

"but- what are we gonna do after i have to leave? do i take the pups with me or do they stay here?" she asked

"well it's best to let our pups to choose what they want to do after they're old enough" thunder answered

The weeks went by very fast.. as soon as the pups were born brenna couldn't help but worry about their future, but with thunder's help she soon started to relax again..
the pups were named in order of oldest to youngest: valo,Apila and Rain
all of them were females.. After a few weeks the pups started opening their eyes.. when brenna saw Apilas and Rains eyes she couldn't help but feel angry at herself and the faelcu… the two pups had her eyes, and that made her even more concerned for their future, she couldn't get the images of the faelcu taking her pups into their realm out of her mind..even if thunder tried to help she couldn't stop stressing about her pups safety..

as the pups started to try and eat the small meat chunks thunder had brought them, brenna felt sad, she knew that it would soon be time for her and thunder to continue their own paths, but there still was the problem of making the pups choose what they wanted to do, brenna knew that even if one of the pups would want to go with her, she couldn't take her pup with her to every pack she would travel to as she had to travel very far away, and the pups small legs couldn't keep up with her ..


that's when she decided that she would only take one of her pups with her into the next pack she would travel to, of course she would only take the pup if the pup themselves wanted to come with her

she told about her decision to thunder and thunder said that her idea was a good one..
soon enough the three pups were old enough for brenna to leave, but before she could leave she had to ask the question

"Does one of you want to come with me as a traveler into the next pack i travel to?, i will only take you to the next pack i come across that will let us stay, after that you will either have to travel alone or come back to your fathers pack" brenna said to her pups who listened to her

"wait.. mom? you're leaving ?" valo asked

"yes, thats what us travelers do, we go travel from pack to pack, sometimes we get a gift from the pack we travel to but that is not always the case.. and sometimes a pack wont let us stay and make us leave their territory at once.." brenna explained

"But you love dad right? why would you leave him .. can't we all come with you?" Rain asked as she looked at her siblings and then her mother

"i do love him but sometimes..we wolves have quests we have to do, and in my case i am bound to the faelcu spirits who won't give me back my freedom if i don't travel far enough and tell them tales of the faraway lands..of course you all can stay in this pack but.. it's unlikely i will see any of you again after i leave.. " brenna said with a sad expression on her face

"oh…" all of the pups said in unison

as thunder walked into the den with a rabbit to give to brenna before she left, he couldnt help but feel sad because of brenna leaving but he put on a smile for his pups

"alright" he said as he gave the rabbit to Brenna " pups, your mother needs to get going soon.. so please answer her question, do any of you want to go with her ?" he asked

"I want to go..is that fine with you dad?" apila asked her dad


"yes, that's completely fine..i'll be here if you ever want to come back" he smiled at apila before turning to look at brenna "take care, be careful and have fun!" he said as brenna picked up apila
"i will, thank you for all the memories" brenna said as she gave thunder a smile before she walked out of the den, and out of the packs camp with apila in her mouth

but soon enough apila changed her mind and was brought back to the camp by brenna before she left
