Clay likes being a Chaser. He isn't the best, more mediocre. But he doesn't mind at all, he doesn't need to be the best to enjoy himself or to provide for his pack.

Sure, Fire is a lot to deal with. But Clay is patient and knows deep down how kind and caring his friend truly is.

History

Clay grew up in a cruel and bloodthirsty pack, where he was forced to do unspeakable things. Eventually he had enough, sneaking out in the dead of night. Clay was good at fending for himself, he decided to go far away from his old pack, to keep to himself so he would never have to hurt anyone again. His plan of solitude didn't work out, turns out there are a lot of packs around, they are hard to avoid. Clay remembered saving a pup from a coyote attack, the child's pack were so grateful. He had never helped someone before, he had never been kind to anyone, it was seen as weakness in his old pack. Clay found he liked being kind, he liked the way it made him feel and the way it makes wolves treat him.

Clay enjoyed his new life, living as a traveler. Meeting new wolves and helping those in need. Eventually, however, he found himself lonely. He wanted a pack he could call his own. That was when he ran into Jet. Jet was a kind wolf and the leader of his own pack; Jet must have thought Clay was nice enough too because the leader offered him a home. Clay agreed, meeting his new pack, they all seemed friendly and kind, they looked out for each other, just what Clay had always wanted. He took the role of chaser; the pack needed more hunters and Clay would do anything to assist his new family.

Clay was very kind to his pack, but he kept the truth of his past a secret. He couldn't bare his new family to know the truth. He ended up befriending Sand, a tough and caring wolf who would do anything for her pack. Clay wished he could be like her one day. As they got even closer, the guilt of lying became too much. Clay ended up telling Sand the truth of his past. To his surprise, Sand didn't hate him. She was shocked and a bit confused, but after hearing the full story she understood what he had gone through and how much he had changed. The two only grew closer from this.

Clay wasn't sure when he and Sand went from friends to mates, it was more of a gradual thing. Eventually however, the two agreed they wouldn't mind having a litter of pups of their own. They had a litter of four, all girls much to the pack's surprise. The pups grew to be kind and reliable members of the pack, they reminded Clay of their mother.

All four of them chose to become hunters like their parents. Well… technically, Patch wanted to be a scout, but with the pack not in need of another, she decided to train as a hunter for now and become a scout when the space was available. Clay was glad to see his pup had gotten something from him, patience.

It was hard when Sand passed, Clay missed his mate greatly. He found comfort in the fact that he would be joining her soon.

On the 7th year and 6th month of his life, Clay made his way to the mountains summit. Steel and Coral keeping him company through most of the journey. Once at the top, looking out at the endless sky, Coral and Clay were greeted by their mates, Sand and Rose respectively, who gently guided them to the afterlife.
