Gemma

Fen's mate, Oak's mother.

Gemma was a young wolf who had been savaged by a pack of rogues, likely a splinter group from the Great Lupin Pack. She fled in terror and ended up in Sky Song Pack's territory. Despite Greta being a more territorial leader than her mother, she would never turn away a wolf in need.

Herbalist Fen worked tirelessly to save her and heal her wounds. Gemma had never known such an attentive and kind wolf before, and he was handsome to boot. She began to fall in love with him, flirting with him and he teasing her back.

Knowing Gemma's tumultuous past and trusting her friendship, Fen found comfort in confiding his own dark past and troubling dreams to her. They formed a close bond and eventually took each other as mates.

Towards the end of Fen's life, the pair was blessed with a litter of puppies. Three sons, one of whom was the spitting image of his father. Gemma and Fen cared for their pups lovingly together until Fen passed away.

Gemma was heartbroken. She tried to care for the puppies but was overwhelmed with grief. Oak's resemblance to his father in particular became difficult for her to see. She closed off from the rest of the pack and fell into a deep depression.

One day, Oak became very ill. He couldn't eat without vomiting. He wouldn't drink or play. No one in the pack knew how to help him and his health continued to decline. Gemma was in a panic that she would lose her son along with her mate. Having spent so much time with Fen in his herbalist den while she was healing, she remembered some of the herbs and mixtures he had used to help pack mates with similar ailments. She experimented, coaxing Oak to eat concoction after concoction until one day, he wasn't nauseated anymore. He began to eat small amounts of food. Gemma was overjoyed and found a new purpose in life, becoming Sly Song Pack's new herbalist and helping to care for her pack mates.
