After Driftfang retired, SealStar chose him as deputy, and he was thrilled!
Then, as the leader, he chose Taigaspirit as his deputy.
When Taigaspirit gave up her role as deputy, they decided that Jaguarundibite, one of the senior warriors, was experienced and young enough to be the next deputy, and chose him, but after one or two seasons, he too was getting old for the role and he retired, advising BaobabStar to choose another wolf.
After thinking and consulting with the medicine wolves, he finally settled for Reefmask, the pack stud.
