Biography
Ghost ran as fast as his paws could carry him, he could hear the furious elk behind him, in his mouth he carried a limp calf, it was weighing him down. His neck ached painfully, and yet he raised his head higher, determined to keep this prey. His pack needed this.
"Drop it!" Breeze screeched desperately, he felt her at his side, she had been outpacing him before she slowed down to speak to him,
Ghost shook his head furiously determined.
He heard Breeze snarl over the powerful thumping of the hooves behind him. Then the world spun, the calves leg had tripped him up, he let out a yelp crashing into the underbrush. A few places behind him he heard the elks beginning to catch up,
"No!"
Breeze howled, dropping back to him. He scrambled for the calf's body that was just a little ways behind him, but Breeze grabbed his scruff holding on tightly and dragging him away,
"We need that!" He barked at her. She didn't reply, helping him onto his paws just before the elk could reach them. They fled across a human path, the elk did not follow, instead standing across the path huffing angrily, and scraping their hooves in the dirt.
Ghost snarled, fury coursing throughout his entire body,
"We need to go back! We're starving!" He hissed. Breeze's fur bristled and she shot back,
"You could've died! We'll find other prey! Disturbing elk during rut season was a stupid idea anyways."
She turned away from him,
"Here, there's a beaver trail down by the river."
Ghost didn't move,
"Beaver? Beaver isn't going to feed all of us! Those stupid wolf-dogs, that you brought to us! Insisting they'd be good hunter's scared away all the prey! That elk calf was the only chance we had!"
Breeze shuffled uncomfortably,
"I'd rather at least one of us eat than none "
She replied quietly, she knew Ghost was right, and yet she didn't want to admit it.
Ghost growled, shoving past her. She watched him disappear into the undergrowth for a second before following behind, shame biting at her ankles.
