Topaz loves telling stories to the young pups, stories of his life and travels. He can't help but smile when the pups' eyes beam in excitement when he tells a particularly daring and adventurous story.

Topaz is quite the chatty wolf, and he is grateful to Alder who seems to enjoy his endless stories. The two have been close since Topaz joined the pack and will probably stay just as close until they die.


History

Topaz, like most young wolves, dreamed of a life beyond his family's pack. Once he was old enough, he tearfully said goodbye before setting off on a new adventure. Topaz enjoyed his time travelling. He wasn't a great hunter, but he got by, and enjoyed meeting knew wolves. Hearing so many different stories was easily his favorite part of travelling.

Eventually however, Topaz found himself yearning for true companionship. He had quenched his thirst for traveling and just wanted to find a pack to call his own. While on his adventures, Topaz met Jet, the noble leader of The Pack of Souring Summit. Topaz followed the wolf for a while, chatting away the whole time. He discovered after a while that he had ended up following Jet all the way back to his pack's base. Once there, he decided to ask to just join Jet's pack, Jet seemed nice enough and he liked the idea of living on the mountains.

Jet agreed in the end, liking Topaz. Topaz chose to take on the role of pupsitter, he wasn't a good hunter, never had been, and felt he could help his new pack best by raising and protecting their pups. Topaz enjoyed his days as a pupsitter, the young pups always loved hearing his stories and he loved to tell them.

Topaz had always been fascinated by the idea of love, of having a mate and pups. He knew he needed to find the right wolf, and from the moment he joined the pack he thought he had. Cacao was a smart and strong wolf; she was an amazing leader and just… perfect. When Cacao actually asked Topaz to be her mate, he was a shocked and flustered mess, eagerly agreeing. Though… at first Topaz got the feeling that Cacao didn't really like him that much… he wasn't sure how to feel about that. It didn't last long however, and it seemed the more time they spent together, the softer for him Cacao got, and the more in love Topaz fell in return.

Cacao and Topaz had a litter of two not long after they got together, a boy and a girl. Topaz beamed with pride at the sight of his pups. He vowed to protect them and ensure they got to live the best lives they could.

When Jet began showing an interest in the two pups, revealing he wished one of them to become pack lead after he died, Topaz was a little nervous. He didn't want his pups to feel pressured into the role and that sort of legacy… it would be stressful on any wolf. He did his best to comfort and support his pups during this time.

Topaz's pups are all grown up now. Elk became the pack leader, it took her a while to get used to the job, but she is now a greatly respected lead wolf. Eagle on the other paw, took on the role of a pack finisher and is skilled at the job. Topaz is so proud of his pups and how brave and noble they have been throughout their life; he truly loves them more than anything.

Things were good for a while, until his mate Cacao sadly passed. He knew this time was coming but it still stung. He takes comfort in knowing he will be joining her soon, though he hopes his pups will be okay with him gone.

On the 7th year and 6th month of his life, Topaz made his way to the mountains summit. Caribou, Duck, Ox, Alder and Brass keeping him company through most of the journey. Once at the top, looking out at the endless sky, Topaz was greeted by his mate, Cacao, who gently guided him to the afterlife.
