Biography
The Hated Child: Cave Crawler
Cave Crawler, being the daughter of the Tavern Witch and Mirros, is viewed as an outcast to the pack. "Her heritage has tainted her," some say, which makes her unworthy to even be in the pack. Mirrors basically abandoned her because of her father being a monster that lurks in an abandoned cave in the Riparian, far away from the pack. Mirrors almost never acknowledges Cave Crawler's existence. Same with her littermates. Her name was an insult just because of who her father was, because Cave Crawler was a mistake to Mirrors. Her uncles had to force Mirrors to nurse her and her siblings just until they were able to eat solid food.
Mirage, her grandmother, ended up adopting Cave Crawler and her siblings. Mirage decided to make Cave Crawler her pupil in herbalism, looking past her background and treating her like an actual wolf, unlike most of the other pack. Even her uncles treat her much better than Mirrors, her own mother.
Memories
"Mama, what was dad like?" The small brown pup had curiosity in her voice, her olive green eyes intently staring at the green and red she wolf she sat in front of. "He was the most hideous thing I ever laid my eyes on," her cold voice dripping with venom, not even daring to look at her pup. "He looks just like you." Cave Crawler went silent, her gaze fell to the ground with a frown on her face. "Don't worry my dear, you aren't nearly as much of an eyesore like your father." There was some sarcasm in her harsh words. "And what did I say about calling me 'mama'?" "Not to do it.." The pup's eyes still remained on the ground, a small whimper in her voice. Mirrors got up and left the burrow they were in. It was a cold spring night, so Cave Crawler could only huddle up with her other siblings for warmth.
"Uncle! Uncle! The puppy yipped, bounding up to the colorful male. The summer sunlight made his pelt sparkle. "Where were you?! What did you find on your adventure?!" The male chuckled at the pup's endless energy. He lay down on the grass; Cave Crawler practically crawled all over him in excitement. "Settle down now, Cece." He'd nudge her gently, and she sat down in front of him with her tail wagging viciously. "You wanna know what I found in the desert?" He paused his sentence and Cave Crawler almost immediately responded. "What did you find, uncle?!" She almost couldn't wait for his answer. "Cougars and huge condors! Vicious beasts I tell ya!" The scout woofed in excitement, seeing the pup's eyes light up. "Whoa, did you get hurt by any?" Her head tilted. "Of course not, little one. Nothing can hurt Setting Suns!" He announced proudly, sitting up.
A pup no older than four months crawled into the burrow she had padded up to, holding a rat in her jaws. "Mama, look! I caught a-" "How many times must I tell you- STOP CALLING ME YOUR MOTHER!" The dark green and red shewolf cut the pup off. She practically roared with her words. Her voice echoed out the burrow she was in. Sitting in front of her was a brown pelted pup with a black ticked back. The puppy was trying to hold back tears, her olive green eyes glossy as she looked her mother in the eyes. The rat in her jaws dropped to the ground. "I- I'm sorry, I-" her sniffles made her pause between words. "SORRY FOR YOURSELF!" Mirrors snapped, her jaws just inches away from Cave Crawler's face. Cave Crawler wailed loudly, dashing out of the den as tears rolled down her face. Wolves from burrows surrounding hers poked their heads out, watching as the pup fled out the cluster of cedar trees and out to the open grassy meadows. No one went after her. Everyone simply watched.

An Accident Happens
In an open field of tall grass, multiple wolves gathered. A small cluster of cedar trees were not too far away from the crowd. Two wolves stood out, standing face to face while others simply gathered behind one. "What do you mean I have to? I don't want pups!" Cave Crawler had clear distress in her voice. The golden brown she wolf that stood before her was obviously upset too. "You have to listen to your alpha." Her voice was stern yet gentle. "No, no I refuse!" Cave Crawler was now getting irritated. This wasn't normal of her, but Berry Bark was pushing her buttons. "Don't yell at the alpha!" One pack member barked. Others were snarling in the background as this unfolded. "Make another wolf do it, please! Our pack for generations has been keeping slaves for this purpose!" Cave Crawler's voice was shaking at this point from anger and sadness.
"NOVA, TENGOKU," the alpha barked. "Take Cave Crawler to the witch's lair." The she wolves hesitantly nodded, and dragged away the squirming herbalist. Her cries fell upon deaf ears, as not even her uncles could do anything to help. Her mother simply watching in the crowd of wolves. The moment Cave Crawler turned to her mother, Mirrors looked away. That is when Cave Crawler ultimately gave up on trying to fight back. Tengoku, the pale blue and white she wolf, did most of the dragging. The saffron, Nova, just made sure Cave Crawler didn't try to escape.
It took a few hours, but they eventually made it to the Riparian woods. "I'm sorry for this.." Tengoku's voice was a whisper, standing a few feet behind Cave Crawler. She then slammed into the brown and black pelted she wolf, sending her falling into the pit that was in front of them. Cave Crawler yelped, landing in a flowing river through the ravine. She quickly swam to the rocky ground, panting as she shook her fur dry. She saw a bundle of something wrapped in large leaves fall down a few feet in front of her. It smelled of herbs. Cave Crawler didn't dare look up at her pack mates. The betrayal she felt was unmatched by anything in the world, and she sat with a slump. Silent whines escaped from her muzzle as she wept to herself.
"You there," a loud, deep voice caught her off guard as she stared at the cave entrance behind the waterfall that had created the river in the pit. "What is your business here?" There was a slight growl in his voice. Cave Crawler began shaking, backing into the wall of the pit. Her tail was tucked between her legs as she stared intently at the timber wolf before her. His blue eyes made her uneasy, and his attire of animal body parts didn't help either.
"Tavern Witch, we offer this young she wolf's body to you!" Tengoku's voice echoed in the ravine, and the witch turned his attention to her. "I do not offer my services for free," there was little emotion in his voice as he spoke. "What else are you willing to offer in exchange for my time?" Cave Crawler looked at the herb bundle beside her, then sheepishly tossed it towards the male. He walked over to her, crossing the river and taking the herb bundle. The witch opened it up, then looked up at the she wolves with a smile. "Thank you, I'll return her soon." Then he turned to the still shaking herbalist, beckoning her to follow.
After the whole ordeal, Cave Crawler was hoisted back up to the forest floor from the pile of boulders that blocked the only exist from the pit. The herbalist was no longer as upset. The witch was kind of nice, compared to the gruesome stories she has heard about him. Cave Crawler was still upset at Berry Bark, however, and didn't want the pups she'd soon have. Her mood went south however when a day after visiting the witch, Mirrors came to her in the herbalist den.
Cave Crawler sat at the far end of the den; herbs of different kinds placed on dirt shelves in the burrow sheltered by trees. "So, how was your time with that Tavern Witch?" Mirrors' voice as cold as ever. "U-uhm.. He was nice to me so I guess it was good..?" Cave Crawler was confused why her mother asked such a question until she said the words that had broke her. "That was your father, you know." Her nonchalant voice set her off even further. "I always knew you were stupid, but this is unbelievable." The shift in her tone was prominent as she spoke with a hiss. Mirrors shook her head with a chuckle before turning to leave the den. Cave Crawler stared out in space, horror and fear on her face as she remained silent for the next few days.
Mistakes Are Born
The pups squealed, covered in a mixture of blood and embryonic fluid. Cave Crawler cried. The physical pain of giving birth and the emotional pain of losing two puppies in process was taking a toll on her. Her uncles were the only ones there as she gave birth in her medicine den. Setting Suns did most of the comforting, while Marsh, the tawny and creme colored male, awkwardly watched while trying to reassure her.
"You have a boy, and a girl!" Setting Suns said excitedly once Cave Crawler was calm enough. Marsh was helping clean the pups off as Cave Crawler was too exhausted to move. The female puppy was the smallest, and had a noticeable red tint to her brown fur, which wasn't from the blood. The male was a regular sized pup. His fur was a lighter brown than Cave Crawler, having the same speckled back and dark brown legs like his father/grandfather. "So what will you name them?" Setting Suns asked, his tail swaying slightly as he sat by his niece. The herbalist weakly turned her head to look at the pups. "Runt and Dung." She said swiftly before lowering her head, panting. "Err.. Wonderful names!" Setting Suns gave a pained smile before getting up. "I'll fetch you something to eat. Rest well, Cece." His soft voice eased the she wolf a little, and she closed her eyes while Marsh stood watch.
Once she was alone and had enough strength to move, Cave Crawler tore into the rabbit carcass in front of her. It was most likely from her uncle, Setting Suns. Marsh had left while she was asleep. Cece turned to her pups. It had been at least five hours since they were born, and the cool spring air came through the den. It was still nighttime. The sun wasn't due to rise for another few hours.
Cece looked down at her pups with a sombre expression. A wave of disgust, anger, and sadness flooded her mind. Silently, the she wolf cried to herself as she turned her back against the pups, facing the wall of the ivy and moss covered den.
