Quiet whimpers was what the abnormally colored wolf noticed first. Eyes still shut, she growled in annoyance from her place. "Juku. Be silent. I'm trying to sleep." However the annoying sound did not halt, it only continued like the low buzz of a fly near her ear.
Springing to her paws with another growl, she failed to notice how the dull ache of her bones had stopped as she passed through the neck of the younger wolf with a soft twinkle. She blinked in confusion, looking down at herself. Her body lay limply, sprawled out on her side like she always did when she slept, but she wasn't looking through the eyes of her body. No, she was indeed standing above the scene as her protege decorated her form with colored powders.
It slowly dawned on the old female; she had died in her slumber without any warning. Of course, she knew she was old, but she never acknowledged it as it never seemed to take it's toll. A new growl sparked in her throat, she wasn't finished, she had more planned and here death was to stop her plans cold in it's tracts. Her green tail twitched with annoyance as she watched the youth prepare her body so she could ascend to the stars.
She could do nothing but observe as the pack proceeded with their burial ritual, lingering close to the packs new herbalist. "Finally!" She barked in relief as the pack dispersed as the act has finished. Orange eyes watched as Juku returned to the herbalist's den, fur bristled with anxiety and discomfort.
"C'mon pup," She rolled her eyes, "I haven't got much time. Let me finish." She barked, the sound failing to alert the younger female. Seeing that she couldn't touch nor speak to her, she teared up on her hind paws and dragged her claws across the ceiling. The soft glowing spores lit up under the pressure of her claws, following the trail she made that led to a rock at the back of the den.
A gasp came from behind her, smirking at the noise as the wolf finally inspected the rock. Scraping around the edge of the stone, her smirk only widened as the red-ish wolf pushed the stone to the side with great effort. Imini started down the tunnel it revealed before she had finished opening the gap, wip of her tail causing the dust to swirl in the air. "Ah, wait." Whimpered the female, darting into the tunnel after her presence.
She could only laugh loudly at the noise, throwing her head back as she slipped free of the crawl space. "Imini..?" Whispered Juku, ears swiveled back to press against her head. "Who else would it be, slugs for brains? You always were a cry puppy." She taunted with another laugh, trotting forward to sit in the light of the sun.
