Singed Stones: Hunter of the Galactic Ones

Growing up, Singed Stones never really recieved much attention from the adults in her pack. Not even from her mother, but she was a very busy scout after all. She learned most of her manners from her mentors and observing other adults of the pack. That is how she grew up to be respectable and polite. Still, not many wolves in the Galactic Ones talked to her. She was a friendless loser in harsher terms.



At around two years old, Singed Stones was put in an arranged pairbond with a meer adolescent. She was unsure how to feel about it, but it's not like she could say much since the alpha's words were final. Her original pairbond was supposed to be a young wolf named Arctis, but was changed to Shards shortly after his transformation. Shards was three months older, but that didn't make her any less uncomfortable. The first few days they spent together was mostly awkward silence with some small talk inbetween. Eventually, Shards grew more comfortable with Singed and began talking more frequently.

Whenever the two hung out, Shards would show off his hunting and scouting knowledge by showing her the best hunting spots he knows and the best places to relax in. Singed appreciated all of this, and slowly began warming up to her arranged pairbond. When Shards became a year old, the alpha made their pairing official and the pack had a mini celebration like they do with all marriages in the pack. Both Singed and Shards were happy to be paired with someone they actually liked, so they vowed to stay loyal to each other until death.

A New Arrangement

A few weeks after Singed, Shards, and their friends formed their own hunting party, Epsilon began flirting with Shards. Although he was confused at first, Shards began flirting back and the two claimed it was harmless fun between friends. Singed wasn't so convinced, but decided not to jump to conclusions yet.

Two months after their hunting team was formed, Epsilon gathered everyone to ask an important question. She asked if they could all become a polyamorous couple. Arctis politely declined on behalf of his pairbond, while Singed thought it was an intruiging idea. Shards was willing to go through with it, while it took a day for Singed Stones to come up with her final answer. Autumn Harvest, Epsilon's mate, wasn't so quick to agree. He took two weeks before he finally decided agreed to become a polyamorous pairbond with the three. It was an idea the group never came to regret, and that day made them all grow closer to each other.

New Trouble Arises

When Singest Stones was approaching five while Radiant turned two, the small blue shewolf had her first litter of pups. Singest Stones treated her like a daughter while Epsilon thought of her as a little sister. The two shewolves, having raised litters before, decided to help Radiant raise hers. She needed the support because Arctis had disappeared the day he returned from a long hunt.

It was two weeks after Arctis had left to hunt in the glacier. Epsilon, Shards, Autumn and Singed were all there searching for a seal to catch. A blizzard held them back for three days, and the team had to hide inside a cave. The snow was so deep that they had to spend a few hours digging themselves out once the blizzard had past. Their next struggle was a heatwave that passed through. It slowed down their movements for another two days. In total, it took sixteen days for them all to return from their hunt, and all of them were famished and exhausted. Once back in the grasslands, Arctis and Autumn used their last remaining strength to hunt down hares for the team so they wouldn't starve to death. The seal pup they hunted was beyond salvaging, but it was better than bringing back nothing to the pack.

Finally returning to the cedar tree cluster they call home, Shards decided to carry the carcass to the alpha instead of Singed doing so. Singed sighed but smiled at his gesture. She decided to rest for a bit, watching as Arctis raced towards his mate's den. When Shards returned from his meeting with the alpha, he rubbed heads with her and the two decided to pay Radiant a visit. The two froze a few feet away from the den when they overheard yelling.



"Arctis, wait!" The pale blue shewolf called out. The icy blue male paused at the den entrance, his back turned to his mate. "L-look, my parents have given birth to green pelted pups before! Just ask my mother! It runs in the family!" She spoke in desperation, her voice shaky. "I-I swear this isn't what you think-" "Don't lie to me." He spoke with such loathing. "You cheated on me. Didn't you?" He turned his head to the side. Arctis stared at her with piercing lapis eyes. "You cheated on me with him." He snarled before leaving the burrow. "Arctis, please!" Singed Stones could tell her friend was in tears. "I swear these are your pups! Please come back!" She cried out, but her pleas fell upon deaf ears.

The yellow pelted female looked down with a serious expression, thinking over the exchange carefully. I already knew about the green pelted pup, but.. Her head perked up as she heard Shards gulp hard. He was about to go and check on Radiant when Arctis suddenly pushed past him. Singed couldn't read Arctis' face. His back was turned when he ran out the den. She looked on with a sad expression, watching her friend run away from the cedar tree cluster they were in. The small, blue pelted male ran into the open meadows, disappearing in the horizon like the sun when it sets. Her expression turned to that of anger as she looked at Shards. He turned to his head, facing Singed with an unsure look, but that look quickly turned to fear. Singed Stones radiated with anger as she gazed harshly at Shards. "Looks like we need to have a talk." She spoke with a slight growl. "Y-yes ma'am-" He whimpered in in response, averting his gaze. He is in big trouble for going against our vows.
