Lily

Lily gently played with the blue diamond attached to the string around her mother's neck.
"What's this for, Mama?" she asked.
Dakota smiled.
"It's a special necklace that all alphas of this pack wear, " she responded.
"But didn't you just start this pack?" Lily asked, cocking her head.
"Yes, and when I left to start it, my mother gave this to me as protection. It lights our way through the darkest of nights. It will be yours one day, Lily."

"Lily, come closer," Dakota rasped. Lily left Daisy's side and walked closer to her mother, tears falling down.
"I want to give you something, my darling daughter." Dakota nudged the diamond pendent with her paw to Lily.
"You are the alpha now. This belongs to you, " Dakota gasped, trying to get more air in her old and failing lungs.
"No, Mother! The pack still needs you, I still need you!" Lily cried. Dakota put her paw on her daughters'.
"Be brave, little one. I'll always be with you. "

The pack howled in acceptance as Lily put on the pendant. Phantom smiled proudly at his mate. Stone, Boneset, and Daisy sat next to Lily, as her advisers.
