Kailani is seen as the spitting image of her late mother, The Moon Will Sing, in terms of behavior. She has an even more commanding and charismatic presence than her and loves hunting underneath the night sky with a cool breeze. She immediately took the role of a leader in her hunting party, having trained very hard as a pup and adolescent. Once disappearing to the north, she returned adorning the coat of a polar bear, greatly impressing her pack mates. After Bella Belle's passing, it was unanimous to make her alpha--where she promptly moved the pack to the glacier for a change of pace.

Little Pistol instructed Stardust to be careful with herbs, as not all the parts could be used for medicines and it was also dependent on their growth cycle. Stardust learned when and where to gather the most necessary herbs.

Stardust made great progress in this lesson. So great that she heard once or twice that maybe, just maybe, she could rest a little. Her ambition for becoming the best voice in the pack was so strong, though, that resting was not an option.

Little Pistol had Luna and Stardust take turns leading each other down a path with their eyes closed. Teamwork comes from trust, and Luna and Stardust had to trust each other to work as a team!
