Florian had been the physician nearly all of his life, and he knew that would be his child's destiny as well. But he was happy with this. He was able to help save lives in a pack that otherwise often seemed bleak.
He eventually met his mate, Nebulosa, who would assist him with his duties. Despite trying for years, they never had a child, never had anyone to take on the family name. This worried him.
This was, until, he found his adopted daughter Irae. Her pack seemingly abandoned her, leaving her behind during their travels. Irae grew up with them, and thrived, initially training as a hunter as she expected the two to have a pup of their own bloodline. But they never did. Florian sought out special permission from the monarch to allow Irae to become the heir.
