Biography
Dunley Bear was raised by a lone grizzly who lost her cubs in a flash-flood. When Dunley was on the cusp of adolescence his entire pack caught a terrible sickness around that same time and began dying off one by one, leaving him all alone in the world.
Young and inexperienced he began to struggle to survive on his own, starving and becoming sickly. He wouldn't survive much longer had it not been for the mother grizzly, Rosemary.
Rosemary was still grieving the loss of her cubs, when she found Dunley. The pup was in a sore and miserable state. His fur was bedraggled and filthy, his bones were clearly visible just beneath his skin, and he was sickly with a terrible cough. The merciful thing to do would have probably been to put the poor thing out of his misery. However, Rosemary's still had a mother's heart and when she looked down on this sad excuse for a wolf, she knew then she had a new son.
It took many months of healing but by late summer, Rosemary had raised a strong young wolf. Her precious little Dunley Bear. A wolf who knew how to speak the tongue of bears in a low and raspy voice, one who was strong willed and far more capable than the miserable skeleton he had once been.
By the time winter rolled around, Rosemary's motherly instincts began to wan away. She told Dunley it was time to seek out his own kind and be amongst them, for she was a bear and bears were never social for long.
When it came time to part ways, yes it was sad and bittersweet, but they would always carry the memories they shared with each other in their hearts and they would always be family.
When Dunley struck out on his own many packs chased him away, finding him and his bearish mannerisms odd and off putting. Eventually he found a place in PineFleet's clan. He is loved, cherished, and celebrated for the unique individual he is, and the culture that he brings.
Despite his upbringing, his social oddities, and the deep and thick accent he has, Dunley Bear is a valued member of the Pine Peaks Clan. If you are willing to look past his differences you will see a brave, gentle, loving wolf with a heart of pure gold.
