Lore: Lepus felt stifled in her pack. There were so many wolves of different ages telling her what she should be.She loved her pack dearly, but she wanted to forge her own path in the world. When one of her pack's travelers came home telling grand stories, Lepus knew that's what she wanted to do. She immediately began petioning her leader to let her become the next pack traveler. Serpens agreed readily, and Lepus was relieved. She threw herself into packing for her journey and set off only a few hours after having been granted permission to go.

Lore: As she approached a large grassland area she smelt something off. After a few more seconds of smelling the air she realized she was in another pack's territory. Soon she heard many paws running towards her. Her pups hid behind her as a large muscular female came bursting through the tall grass. The muscular female looked her up and down. " what are you doing in my territory? " the muscular she said with bared teeth. Lepus gulped " I was wondering if i could stay here for a while and my name is Lepus " The wolves turned to each other talking in a hushed voice. After a few moments they glanced at her then at the pups and went back to talking. After a while they finally stood up straight and the muscular she said " Fine you may stay but you have to hunt for your pups with great care as our other hunter already has his paws full." She nodded and they set off father into the long grass as they went deeper eyes began to appear in the tall grass and some of them had their teeth bared at her. The muscular she spoke " I am Night'Watcher I am the alpha of this pack but they all call me the queen and i accept it. Heads up dont mind those eyes and teeth they're just the pups. " Some pups fell in behind the two wolves who were behind Lepus. A large female slowly stepped through the grass and she glared hard into Lepus's eyes.Lepus looked down at her paws. When they reached the dens the grass all dispersed as if a sheep ate a circle into the grass. There was pups play while two adults were giggling and the adolescents were practicing. The food pile was stocked high with three deer and some small critters. She became a hunter so she could feed her pups. She hunted with two males they were pretty good at hunting but one was very thin. She guessed they were trying to make him leave but he still stayed with them. Half a month later a female grew up and she became a hunter who helped us hunt she was great at hunting! Her name was Ice'Eye. It was nice having a female hunt with her.Later on a albino female joined the pack and a wolf got chased away to make room for growing pups. One day when she went on a walk she found her pup Red'Belly laying dead and she smelled of coyotes she became very sad she started to wander around camp aimlessly when she came back to camp. She told Yellow'Belly that she was going to leave soon. Yellow'Belly asked if she could come with but Lepus refused. She began to head off to find a new area everyone said farewell besides her pup Yellow'Belly she only growled at her anger and hatred filled her eyes as she watched her mother leave the same day her pup died. She regretted leaving them but she had no choice.

Lore: As she traveled blindly from the grasslands, Lepus was eventually met by a golden wolf. She introduced herself to Lepus as a scout for a nearby pack and, gently, soothingly, suggested that Lepus might return to their forest with her. "You look like you need a place to rest," she said, but Lepus could tell that wasn't what the scout truly meant. She wanted to refuse, but the pause had brought just how exhausted and hungry she was to the forefront of her mind. When had she last stopped? Last slept? Last eaten? Numbly, she nodded and followed the scout home. Autumnfall's was a lively territory nestled deep in the forest. A great many young wolves followed mentors around the camp, and a pair of pupsitters played with a snappy pup who looked to be on the cusp of adolescence herself. She didn't look like Yellow'belly, not really. Her eyes were too dark, her pelt too light. She didn't look like Red'belly either. But it was too difficult to watch as the pup's mother returned from her hunt and collected her daughter. Lepus would never come home to Red'belly again. She'd never come home to Yellow'belly either. She'd lost both of them, through her own failures. Lepus ate what she was given without tasting it, nodded when she was introduced to the pack without hearing their names, and went with the hunters when she was asked if she preferred to hunt or look after pups. She was never looking after pups again. Never.
Lepus fell into a rythem within the pack. She hunted when she was called upon, and did her best not to watch the adolescents who followed them to learn. She ate when the pack ate, and slept by herself in a den of soft old leaves. There was peace in having a task set ahead of her, and she lost herself within it until, one evening, Golden Heart came to her when she was slipping off to the nest she'd chosen. The scout insisted on going for a walk together, not far outside of the denning area. Reluctant, but unwilling to argue, Lepus followed her to a rocky little creek with tall, sharp-sloping shores. Golden Heart sat at the top of the bank, and, for lack of better options, Lepus followed suit. She watched the reflection of the setting sun on the rippling water, silent and cold amidst the fading green of the forest, waiting for the end of this disruption in her routine. Then Golden Heart began to speak, so softly it was almost as though the wind that stirred her fur with the promise of autumn carried the words rather than the wolf beside her. Golden Heart spoke of her pups and how they'd slipped away from camp one day to play at adventuring, the silly things caught mere minutes after being out of sight but... "My little Sand fell. Right here. We couldn't wake her."
She did not return to her nest of leaves that night. Lepus sat on the bank of the little creek and cried for her lost pups while a wolf she barely knew, but whose pain she knew all too well, gently groomed her fur. They were still there, curled up together, when the golden light of morning came. Spent with grief, Lepus watched the sun rise through the leaves of the forest, along the steep creek banks, and shimmer across the gently flowing water. For the first time since she found her little Red'belly, she felt its warmth on her fur. The awful, sickening ache of loss was still heavy in her chest. But the world was still out there, waiting. The world she'd so longed to see that she'd left her home to see it. Lepus left Autumnfall, not lighter for the weight of her loss might never truly ease, but at least warmer. A snippet of the dreaming beyond went with her, a gift from the leader's strange companion, to remind her of a place where the lost might be remembered. With a bit of prey from her last hunt with Autumnfall pack, and the warmth of the autumn sun on her fur, Lepus set out for her next adventure....

Lore: Lepus, tired from her travels arrived at an overgrown patch of vines. The wind had picked up, ruffling her fur in un-even patterns, leaving her weary about the night ahead. She chose to nestle herself, careful in this thicket and began to descend into a sleep....until the sound of rustling awoke her. A snack perhaps? her ears perked as she began to scan the scene ahead of her which seemingly hid the source of this 'rustle.' Her nose twitched as she began to taste the ear, hackles instantly rise as she realizes the familiar scent....another canine.
Thankfully... for her sake! she had met a nearby packs alpha, which welcomed her into the group on a temporary basis. She would be required to 'work' to be allowed to stay though.
While staying with the pack, Lepus fell for the pack alpha and bore him many pups. However she did not wish to be 'tied' to this pack due to her pups blood ties and decided to leave with her babies in tow....

Lore: Lepus, was journeying through a breathtaking white forest situated on a massive mountain when she suddenly stumbled upon another pack's camp. As she approached the campsite, she could hear the distant howls of the wolves in the pack. Lepus cautiously approached the camp, her senses heightened as she scanned the area for any signs of danger. The other wolves were gathered around a large fire, their eyes fixated on Lepus as she drew closer. Lepus' heart was pounding with apprehension as she assessed the situation, unsure of how the other pack would react to his presence. Despite her fears, Lepus stood her ground, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
"Well? Are you just going to stand there? You look starved come eat!"
Much to her suprise a elderly white wolf with honey paws motioned for her to sit next to him, a hare carcass waiting. Joining him at the campfire, she said "My name is Lepus the traveler, who are you?" The white wolf smiled.
"Most people just call me John. Its nice to meet you." On her left a yellow and brown wolf spoke.
"My name is Lady Nagant, the quiet grey one is Lord Shen, and that is R.A.Y." She looked at the grey wolf, who was staring at her, and then at the wolf named R.A.Y who was brown with glowing metal all over him.
"We are going to be the wolves showing you around and watching over you." Lady Nagant told her.
For the next few days Lepus learned lots about sneaking and the art of silence. When it was time to leave she felt a sadness but continued on her path of a traveler.

Lore: Lepus stayed in the Moonlight River Pack for a short time, but she would remember it well. The whole pack seemed vaguely distracted, though happy to have her, and hungry. Hunting parties were sent out day and night, just hoping for extra food. Lepus offered to join them many times over the moons she stayed, but she was denied it every single time. They gave her all the food she needed, the pupsitters chatted with her, the pups listened to her stories. But she knew that their territory was large and food was scarce. So she left soon enough, though keeping the fond memory of the wolves she was leaving behind.

Lore: Lepus wandered, mindless and faltering, through woods and plains. Her final venture met her along the way. The woods she crept through seemed to watch and study her, the eyes of unseen things prickling her fur and leaving a sour taste in the air. In spite of its oddities, the first creature to approach her bore no malice in her wise gaze. Lepus paused in her trek as she spotted the fellow she-wolf, whose pelt seemed almost to be splotched with brilliant snow. Lepus noted the wolf's aged muzzle, though she was far from frail.
"You have strayed far from your home." Spoke the stranger, her voice mellow and refined.
Lepus shifted her posture some. "I am a traveler--such is my life."
The stranger nodded, a knowing glint to her eyes. "And what is your name?"
"It is Lepus." She dipped her muzzle respectfully. "Who are you?"
"I am Aika. I am she who leads my pack." The wolf tipped her head to the trees as a cold breeze rustled them. "Winter is soon to arrive. Won't you stay with us for a time?"
With this, Lepus settled among the elderly wolf's pack. It was quite large, and its wolves moved with a peculiar grace to them, a strangeness in their eyes as they met the new face.
She spent her days aiding in minor tasks--cleaning the dens, fetching bedding, and the likes. She often found herself gazing across the nursery, where each pup brought her bittersweet memories. She had come to accept these reminders, for they could never truly fade.
A month or so had passed since her arrival when Lepus brought to the world three new pups. She nursed them with warmth yet despair, knowing she could never stay with them. They didn't look the same as Yellowbelly nor Redbelly, but somehow, she saw their faces within them. She would often whisper to her pups, knowing they could not yet listen, pleading their forgiveness for what she must do. They would be safer here--a statement she attempted to convince herself was true with each passing night.
The day finally came. Lepus felt an ache in her heart as she woke, and yet a longing for the end of her journey swept her. She tearfully comforted her pups, who had known for some time that this would occur, though the knowledge did little to console them now. They ultimately accepted it, surrounded by their father and the rest of the pack. Lepus could almost see the very same strangeness in her own pups' eyes then. She knew they would fit in well.
Lepus departed from the final stop on her lifelong journey. She wept as she traveled the path to her homelands, and she let herself remember all that she'd seen and learned. Nightwatcher, Redbelly, Yellowbelly, Golden Heart, Flicka, John, Lady Nagant, Lord Shen, R.A.Y., Aika, and the rest of the wolves she had grown with on her way--they would forever live in her memory.
