Ymir IV struggles mentally with paranoid schizophrenia. She often has hallucinations of two wolves, a pale-colored female who she has named the Courage wolf, and an all-black female named the Insanity wolf.

Courage wolf guides her on how to do good in the world, while Insanity wolf pushes her to commit heinous acts of violence.
