The God, Karma, Khaldun, and Sunset Amongst The Rain gathered together around an elk calf carcass, taking bites of it together as they discussed the pack's overcrowding problem, keeping their voices hushed yet ever so often raising them. "With the rate of the pups coming in, we'll have to sell off wolves or.. chase them, Karma." Pointed out Sunset Amongst The Rain with a distasteful snort. "Why are we discussing what to do, when we know?"The God, Karma glared at him, snarling. "I know that, but I want to find a more civil way to do things... But the only thing I can think to do is fight for more territory. And even then, I'll be putting our overcrowding problem onto another pack. I couldn't do that." The three sat in thought, Khaldun lashing his tail as he took an angry bite of the elk. The two scouts looked into each other's eyes after a few moments, a silent nod came from Sunset Amongst The Rain, both of them leaving, presumably to go out scouting. The clover-colored wolf got to her paws, trotting off to her overgrown, mossy den. Slipping through the thickets emerged the pack's hunting team, carrying a bull elk carcass between them, snow adorning their lightly-hued pelts. The nursery-mothers flocked over, pups tumbling out beside them, yipping in excitement. The hunters dropped off the carcass in the middle of the pack camp. Pack members gathered around, howling in unison before starting to feast on it. The hunting team turned back to the entrance, preparing for another hunt. With the high number of residence in the Pack of the Wyverns, hunts were sent out one after the other, morning to night. Maghiel and Streifenhörnchen intertwined tail-tips, eating together and chatting about the day. The dawn light slipped over the snowed-on trees, setting coats ablaze as the wolves spoke. Serenity filled the wolves for a moment, before a pained howling sounded from The God, Karma's den, pack members abandoning the carcass to rush over to the den's entrance, fighting through the overgrowth of the entrance to burst inside, wolves gasped and whimpered, some letting out howls of shock and deep sorrow. The queen looked thoroughly pained, holding her pup's limp body inbetween her paws, desperately trying to warm them. Her pup, Gier, was always hinted at to not be able to survive the cold of the barren territory the Pack of the Wyverns called their own, yet The God, Karma heard none of it, threatening exile on the wolves of such rumors. She looked distraught, her gaze flitting to her single pup left, Neid. She'd have to protect them at all costs. The pack herbalist, Night, rushed to the queen's side, giving her a pained frown as she rest a paw onto Gier. "I'm sorry, Karma." whispered the herbalist, leaving with the rest of the pack. time and perspective skip motherfuckers, i got lazy!!!Austausch padded down a snowed-on, trodden path, paws freezing. She could practically feel them drop off as snow crested onto her muzzle, winds drying out her nose, causing her to sneeze. Continuing down the trail, she sniffed. Many scents mingled into one, which she judged to be a pack. Two wolves' scents travelled out of a seeming border, trailing off across the days. Probably the pack scouts. Curiously, she ducked into a short patch of forestry, eyes roaming the wide, rolling meadows from a bush's protection. Pronghorns grazed in a far-off stretch of land, nearby a hill with a frozen running brook cutting it in half. It split the territory straight down the middle as far as she could see. Shaking her cloaked body with a cold sigh, breath billowing infront of her. Taking to moving again, she travelled against the harsh winds to another foliage-ridden stretch of territory. Her snow-clad frame broke into a sprint, spraying snow onto a few shriveled weeds as she stopped hard. Pawsteps rang out, imprinting the snow. Headed towards the Pronghorns. Austausch sprung forwards, dashing out of the territory. Sides heaving, she burst over the border. Sighing, she sought out a new path to follow, though she had plans to keep this pack in mind... woohoo another time and perspective skip because waterfilledtwinkie is the most lazy bitch and is writing this at 2:20AM!!! also not putting links to wolves anymore unless its first mention you will live without it i promise The God, Karma trailed at the back of the group, following Sunset Amongst The Rain and Khaldun. She needed to clear her head after death of her pup, and what better way to re-ignite her spark than a walk? "Karma, have you seen what we found late last moon?" asked Khaldun, a entering his step as he mentioned it. "No, what've you two found?" the pair of scouts sprung off once she finished, leaving her to dash after them with a sigh. The scouting patrol stopped at a thicket of laurels, encasing seemingly nothing. "What are you two raving over? There's nothing." she bluntly stated, gaze swiveling to her two scouts. "You'll find out!" yipped Sunset Amongst The Rain, tail wagging as they slid past the foliage, into a downward-spiraling, cave-like structure. Reluctantly, the queen followed the more experienced wolf into the stoney structure, waving her tail to Khaldun, who trotted to her side. yknow what it is, perspective change Austausch sat above the rim of the cave in which the Pack of the Wyverns resided, smiling as the dawn winds nipped at her nose and paws, billowing her cloak with a flick of her tail-tip. Getting to her paws silently, she strode into the camp. The birds' morning serenades chimed together sweetly, almost calling her from her more sinister plans. With a shake her head, snow cleared from her muzzle, as did her thoughts. Using her nose to locate the nursery, she picked out a large, well-kempt pup. One that wouldn't die easily in the wild. Or, that was the thought. Snapping her jaws around the pup's scruff, she snuck out of the camp, heavy snow starting to pick up. Shaking her head, Austausch burst into a sprint, not stopping even as she crossed the pack's border, heading farther and farther away with every kilometer she ran, stopping a decent distance away from the pack's border. An owl hooted somewhat close by as Austausch dropped the pup, now awake and staring at her in horror."Who are you?!" meekly squeaked the pup. "That would depend, who are you?"
asked Austausch, smiling. The pup softened a bit, looking her up and down. The young puppy inched over her frame, deep in though. She was a black-grey wolf with cream accents, a snow-clad cloak, and... injuries? Injuries! A large, alarming amount of them..! "What happened to you?!"
the young child asked, shifting worriedly. She sat. "There's no time for questions." She glared down to the pup, diving down for it's throat, stepping on it's small body to pin it in place. Sharp, horror-filled howls split from the body under her as she dug her jaw into it's jugular. Blood seeped from behind her canines and through her teeth, the sticky substance staining her white-black muzzle a wine red. Shaking her head a few times, she ravaged the wolf's throat. Blood matter into her cheek fur as she slammed them down onto the rocks below. A defeaning crack sounded as the pup's head split into two sections, crimson waves spilling out. The pup's body lie still, a gruesome sight to see. Austausch licked her lips, cleaning what she could off her now stained jaw. i know you love these perspective+time switches, we all do Maghiel and Streifenhörnchen both howled out, side by side, striding around the territory frantically. Draes Skel'adi searched in despair, desperate to find her pup. Sorrowing, pitiful cries ripped from her throat every few moments, disappearing into the night's frigid air to never be heard again. lol yknow what time it is!! this shit should just be written on an ao3 fanfic n its just a link to a whole ass book💀 Austausch could practically feel her paws drop off, the frigid cold of the night cutting off her circulation to them with a numbing strike of pins and needles. Picking up her pace, she followed the calling howls of worried wolves.
"Austausch" is German for "Exchange".
