Akai was the first ever breeding male of the pack, and also one of the first ever wolves whom became a member of said pack. The wolf was a keen hunter and respected by all. He was stalwart, humorous, but most notably of all, a benign father. He fathered many litters and his blood still runs through the pack today. He gave Nosuri her first litter, as well as Kuma's, whom Akai adored and sought to protect, eventually taking her as his mate. He lived in the pack for many years, until he began to slow down and decline into old age. He ended his course on the earth in his sleep, woeful to leave behind everything he was once part of; But in return for all he did in life, he was granted a spot in the heavens in death. His passing was the first the pack suffered from, gripping them like sharp claws and inflicting grief upon them. Kuma keened for Akai deeply, her hurt being heard from kingdom come. Her many children and the rest of the pack did all they could for her. Akai in turn called to her, as the healer Konozato announced. His painful but loving howl would surely echo in the wind for many generations to come.
