Biography
When Juno and her sister, Talulah, were only six months old, they were abandoned by their mother for unknown reasons. Juno will never forget how confused and fearful she felt on that fateful day: her mother went out to hunt for food and never returned. Juno and Talulah found themselves all alone in the middle of a harsh and foreign land, entirely unsure of what to do and where to go.
Two moons later, Juno and Talulah had their first encounter with humankind. They were foraging for food at the edge of the small swath of forest that they had come to call their home, focused intently on their search, when all of a sudden a massive oak tree toppled to the ground nearby. The two wolves rushed to investigate the scene, and it was then that they saw them: a group of hostile, furless creatures wielding eerie metal blades.
Mere days after this perplexing incident, Juno and Talulah determined that the forest was no longer safe: there were more humans where the first ones had come from, and they had invaded the forest for purposes of felling trees. Both Juno and her sister were very afraid of the bizarre creatures and could not understand why they wanted to destroy the forest. With great sadness they began to search for a new home, tired and hungry.
In the beginning, the search was difficult. The further the sisters walked, the sparser the land seemed to become. They were heavily burdened with exhaustion, unable to find a good source of food or shelter, and became ever-more anxious as the days passed by. Eventually, the famished wolves stumbled upon a stretch of farmland—a peculiar sight, to say at the least—and were filled with a sense of wonder. The scent of animal dung filled the air.
