The cold night air gave me life as I explored the mountains ahead. It was there that I'd found two lost pups. They immediately latched onto me. I was mesmerised by their frills, how they danced in the moonlight. They look so, innocent. I let them follow me. They did not seem to ever be hungry and were content with playing with each other. Since accepting them, I felt an aura of...protection over me. It was so subtle I didn't notice at first, but I realised that these pups had a...power. A warmth that I had not felt before, encompassing my whole body.
