Gem wishes for a more exciting life than pupsitting, often complaining about it. What the wolf will never admit however, is that he chose the role of pupsitter because he was too scared of the dangers of being a hunter.

Gem and Badger are very confident, the two wolves holding a whole lot of confidence. Gem having confidence for himself and how amazing he is, and Badger having confidence in his battle prowess. Overall, the two stubborn wolves make for a good pair of friends.


History

Gem was born to Coral and Rose alongside his littermates Beam and Taiga. Since he was small, he has known he was destined for greatness. I mean… he was practically perfect, smart, and handsome and brave! Plus, he was the grandson on the pack Lead Jet. There was no way he wouldn't become someone amazing.

By the time he reached adolescence, he began training as a pupsitter alongside his two siblings. He insisted he was only training to be a pupsitter so his siblings wouldn't get lonely. What he would never admit was that he was too anxious about hunting anything to become a hunter, and a lonesome job like an herbalist or scout would mean he wouldn't get to show off to any of his packmates.

By the time Gem reached adulthood, he had become a decent pupsitter. He got the job done; no pups had died in his care after all. Even if he spent most of his time either complaining about the job or bragging about how amazing he was to any wolf that would listen.

Gem never had an interest in taking a mate, his standards were simply too high for any wolf to ever meet them. Plus, a mate would only drag him down. If he was to become an even more amazing wolf, he couldn't be distracted by something as silly as love.

Gem always thought he would become lead one day. He was the youngest of Jets kin after all, and obviously the most qualified amongst his siblings. But then, Cacao had to go and have a litter of pups. Jet immediately set his eyes on the two pups and Gem couldn't have been more furious. When Jet announced Elk would be his heir, well, Gem felt like screaming.

When Jet finally passed and Elk became their official lead, Gem made it very clear that he would not be listening to that inexperienced, scatterbrained fool. This, however, resulted in him getting a firm talking to from his parents. Gem began to spend most of his time sulking and complaining, and his pack quickly learned how to tune him out.

Gem was crushed when his mother passed, not that he would ever let anyone see that. He would never be so foolish to let his pack see him so weak and vulnerable. Gem found it slightly harder to keep composure when his father passed next. The knowledge that both of his parents were now gone was admittedly very hard to process.

On the 7th year and 6th month of his life, Gem made his way to the mountains summit. Caribou, Beam, and Taiga keeping him company through most of the journey. Once at the top, looking out at the endless sky, Gem, Beam, and Taiga were greeted by their parents, Rose and Coral, who gently guided them to the afterlife.
