Wolf created on 2022-12-23
Arrived: 2023-01-28
------------------------------Traveling Wolf------------------------------
Nuriko is a bit different than your traditional traveling wolf. Rather than telling the story about what happens when she visits your pack, Nuriko wants to hear YOUR stories!Did you have an interesting piece of lore or mythology about your pack that you always wanted to share, but never had the chance? Or perhaps a change of leadership, a heroic sacrifice, a forbidden romance, or a terrible betrayal? Love, drama, tragedy, or fairy-tale... Nuriko wants to hear it all.
And with her handy feather quill tucked behind her ear, Nuriko will carry your stories with her, and share them with many packs to come.
Are you ready to tell your story?
------------------------------Rules:------------------------------
1. Try not to keep her for more than 7-10 rollovers
2. Please only take them in if you are interested in adding lore -- that is the entire point of this wolf, and I want to give the people who are actually interested in that to all have a chance.
3. Do not starve or neglect my wolf -- I will be checking in every now and then, and will pull them back if necessary.
4. Return her after she reaches 7 years old (if I have not recalled her already)

Lore: Noriko's first visit was to The Thornheart pack -- a pack that had once resided in the deciduous forest, but had recently been driven out by an invading pack of Riparian wolves.
She had heard that there had also been something of a schism in the pack, with the takeover of their new leader, who was rumored to have killed their original leader, Deftmark. And had even possibly orchestrated the whole attack himself! Nuriko could hardly believe that a wolf would betray their own pack like that... but she supposed that stranger things had happened. She had to find out for herself.
Tracking them down took some doing. But she finally found them traveling through the prairie, scattered about some makeshift dens near a lake-shore.
She was almost immediately approached by their new leader, Reaper. Who was a bit smaller and older than she had expected, but no less intimidating. Thankfully, the scarred wolf did not seem hostile, but he was wary -- demanding to know who she was and what she was doing there.
Unfortunately, when Nuriko tried to ask him a couple of questions about the attack, the old wolf grew quite irritated. Telling her that the attack on his pack was none of her business, that they had just suffered a tragedy, and she should "stick her little nose somewhere else". She asked if any of his other pack members would be willing to answer a few questions, and that was when Reaper asked her to leave. It didn't sound like a suggestion, either.
Humph. Some wolves could be so rude! Perhaps she'd have better luck elsewhere.

Lore:
"What's wrong?" Nuriko asked a month into her stay. It'd taken her a while to get the courage up, to be honest. "Why aren't you happy? Look how Lavina Thunder, my fellow traveller, rejoices at her pups, yet your pack seems to be waiting for death. And you are heading the mourning rites."
Frozen Sun only sighs and takes Nuriko aside where no one can hear them. "I am heading the mourning rites, more literally than you think. K'vaer," and she whispers this name, tail tucked, "they will come and take all of the pups to Death, all except two. They are the heirs for my cousin Burning Moon and I, an alternating line of leader and Maleira. It has been this way since K'vaer chased my grandfather and Burning Moon's grandmother to the glaciers and never let them leave. Our grandparents, Shattered Sun and Broken Moon, were brother and sister, you know. They refounded the pack. Now our pack is split between their descendants."
"K'vaer?"
"A deity who stole us from our true Goddess, Eipharr. K'vaer was jealous of Eipharr's protected pack, and so they killed almost everyone and chased her grandchildren here." Frozen Sun looked angry, now, but not at Nuriko. "I don't want to talk about this. The pups will die, and then the two left will replace my cousin and I when we die. There is no escape for us."
Nuriko had felt sorrow before, but never such helplessness. "Can I do anything?"
"No, but I will remember your kindness for this. One day, Eipharr will come to save us. I have dreamt of it before. And K'vaer is not so cruel all the time; I do not pretend to understand their reasoning, but when they visit they often bless us. They prefer my company to most. We'll be okay." Her tail untucks and wags ever so slightly.
A while passes since that conversation, and now it is almost winter. Frozen Sun urges Nuriko to leave before the bone-chilling cold sets in. "You are a wolf from the heat of the desert," she says, "and your heart is also thus. I would not want to see you here, where it freezes more than any of the rest of the glaciers."
Nuriko heeds her wisdom, taking it with a bow of her head and a promise to remember, to tell Viskande Vindar's story. It is time to leave.

Child of Cregoriath and Amalee
Heavensward pack's attack was swift.. brutal and without mercy. But in the aftermath, Cregoriath stood firm, his beloved Amalee at his side, the pups in their charge safe. He was a part of the new guard now.. a new dawn had risen for Ultima Thule, as they were now called. But as he cared for pups around him, he began to feel the urge to see his own line continue. He had been trying with his mate, but so far.. nothing had taken. But then one day while managing the pups, he heard a whimper from the bushes.
Investigating, he found little Nuriko, shivering and starving, barely weaned. Seeing blood on the little wolf's pelt, he could sense that this was an orphan. Without a second thought and seeing this as the woodland spirit's answer to his prayers, he took the pup in as his own son. Blood was not important, family was. And it proved to be important as he grew and his mother and father finally had a litter of their own.
As he grew into adulthood, he realized he wanted to do something similar. But he wanted to be an ambassador for the pack, to represent his family and home pack but live with an allied pack. After speaking to his father, the older wolf placed a paw on his son's head.
" If this is what your heart tells you, than follow it my child. But remember, we are always your family and love you, no matter where your heart guides you and your paws take you." Cregoriath said and his mate Amalee nodded and nuzzled the pup that will always be their first borne child. Giving her something of theirs to take on her journey, Nuriko nuzzled them both and set out for her new pack, determined to make his parents proud and serve their allies nobly and honorably.

Lore: Nuriko arrived, like many Travelers do, by the cave's door. He, however, unliked the others, didn't brush off the omnious phenomena in the face of the pack's Alpha, but rather went to find answers. So he aprroached the Pack Leder, Alésia, wanting to hear the cave entrance's story.
After all, it's not everyday that you see this kind of entrance.
When he had arrived, Nuriko had walked into the cave, following the Leader in a pitch black hole. It wasn't cold, but... chilly. They walked in complete darkness for what seemed like eons, but was pobably minutes. Without anything else to percieve than the brown fur off his guide, Nuriko focused on sounds. Soon, he heared soft chimes ringing in the air, like a symphony of a thousand tiny bells. He was listening to sounds, swiveling his heas around to find it's source when light flooded his vision. He squinted and opened them, only to see a vast and grassy land. Wolves here and there doing various things, pups running around, followed by their mentors...
Turning around, he looked up Alésia.
"What is this cave?"
Eyes bubbbling with mirth, the wolf smiled.
"It's a special one."
"Could you tell me it's story?"
Alésia looked him up and down, assessing.
"You're that storyteller aren't you? Fine, but know that you're one of the only wolves to know this secret."
Nuriko scooted in closer, eyes wide and attentive, ears ready to listen. The Leader opened her mouth, and spoke of ancient tales, before either of them were born, legends, magic and gods, stories that made Nuriko's fur stand on end and slacken in shock. That made his eyes widen and furrow in thought. When Alésia finally stopped, it was night time. Nuriko let the silence make a home between them before opening his mouth to speak.
"That...was beyond what I expected."
Alésia smirked, mischief dancing on her face.
"I know."
She got up and left, leaving Nuriko under the Moon, the stars and the heavy blanket of night.

Lore:
"Hello! My name is Nuriko, I am-" His head lifted from the rock and turned.
"My name is Gigantomachia, I know who you are, the pelt gives it away. You want a story right?" Nuriko smiled and walked up to another rock lying down with his quill and scroll.
"Yes, tell me please!" Gigantomachia snorted and began his tale.
Nuriko, sat with keen ears, attentively listening to the history lesson being taught about the Pack of Silence. It was said that this pack was once the strongest and most feared pack in the land, known for their strategic hunting methods and tactical warfare. However, their reign of power came to an end with the arrival of a powerful being to oppose their leader: On High had come to challenge Galeborn.
As the orange wolf spoke, Nuriko could feel the tension and excitement building within his voice. The Dark Savior On High was a legendary figure, said to possess incredible strength and cunning.
Through out the land only some knew about his greatness, I among the few. He had fought Galeborn once, ending in boths loss of an organ.
Galeborn was a Lord of the Light, a being of immense power and wisdom. He was known to be just and fair, and always fought for what was right.
On High, on the other hand, was called the Dark savior. He had inconcevable strength, power, and wit, but his methods were questionable. Some say he was a hero, others say he was a villain.
The fate of the Pack of Silence would be determined by a great battle between these two powerful beings. The battle was intense and lasted for days, with both sides suffering heavy losses. Suddenly after the wolf Galeborn yelled, an eruption of power caught the attention of wolves within ten miles.
As the dust settled and the world was quiet, the surrounding wolves watched. Standing above Galeborn was On High. He was victorious, and the world would soon know it.
"Wow, thats some history!" Nuriko scribled words on a page as fast as he could. Gigantomachia rolled off his rock and asked, "Would you care to stay a night? The cougars get terribly hungry in the night..." Nuriko after noticing the skys change nodded. They traveled for a bit through the forest and reached the camp the darkness forcing the pack to light fires.
"Here I will escort you to your den." Gigantomachia said walking towards a large tree. Nurkio was deep in thought when he noticed something strange. As he was walking by two wolves with uncanny similar features turned their heads and stared at him. The smaller one snorted and said something to bigger one before turning back to his porcupine carcass. The wolves where grey one darker one lighter with black over their backs and white undersides. Both had red eyes but they where different somehow.
Hurrying his pace he walked by swiftly, and looked back. He locked eyes with the big one, only for a second before desending down under the tree. Nuriko shivered thinking about that wolf.
"Who was that?" Nuriko asked Machia who was already lounging on a large root.
"On High" Nuriko shook his head. "Dang..." Machia smiled rolling on his back and stretching. Nuriko sat slowly falling asleep thinking about what history rich pack he had stumbled into.
Spending a few days he enjoyed his stay documenting anything interesting he found. Then when it was time to leave he said his good bye to Machia his friend and grumpy room mate.
Nuriko continued to live his life as a nomad wolf, but he always kept a watchful eye for the presence of On High and the Pack of Silence.
I write alot. XD
