The entire tribe awaited Cookie Kyovin's giving birth. It's as if not a single soul dare breathe until Skal emerged from the den to announce all pups were healthy and there were no casualties. Growing up Ikiaq was quite privileged compared to other pups from the tribe. He and his siblings received special training as his litter was viewed to have been sent from the spirit realm to aid the tribe in their time of disarray, but he never felt as if he were any more special than the other less praised puppies that he played with when he was seldomly allowed away from his mother and the swooning group of wolves that always gathered around he and his siblings. He never enjoyed all of the attention, he was quite an anxious wolf from the start and always just wanted to be alone even for a second. His brothers, Tiqriganiannig and Tekkeitsertok, always seemed to be contesting one another. They fought to prove their strength and worth to the tribe and were praised excessively for it. Ikiaq was always off to the side somewhere, chasing bugs or playing with flowers. The tribe began to notice his timid behavior and worried for him. Ăšlfur set to be more hard on the young male as to "toughen him up." But it never worked. Eventually Skal took Ikiaq under her wing, and before long the young wolf was set to become the next herbalist. He's quite content with this profession, as comes the privilege of being by himself most of the time.
