Biography
This wolf had no happy beginning but it didn't let her define her past as the wolf she would be when she got older.
Feather-whisker, beautiful though she was her parents disliked her. For what reason? She didn't know, she just knew they disliked her and treated her horribly compared to her littermates. Her parents high rank in her pack caused all the other wolves to dislike her as well. She had done no wrong so why must they dislike her? Due to this she stayed to herself, getting in interest in the many plants and animals around the forest her pack inhabited. One day when she was gathering her plants she ran into a dark furred wolf. She had never seen this wolf and his scent was unfamiliar to her. The wolf was older, though not by much. To her credit she did not run, she stayed around the young wolf, clearly interested by him. The male wolf spoke softly and kindly that she lost all suspicion of any malicious intent the male may have had. From what she understood the male had come from fars away, from a redwood forest south from her home and was in search for new lands to inhabit with his small band of wolves. He wanted to go to the glaciers, a land far away from where she lived and much farther from where his journey started. She thought he was crazy. Crazy he must have been to want to go to the GLACIERS? A land filled with dangerous animals and dangerous weather. Though by the look in his blue eyes she could tell there was no lie to be told. She huffed and with a lash of her tail had told the wolf of the dangerous and if he and his friends were sure they wanted to go there. To her shock he insisted and asked for help since he could tell she knew where this land was. In-fact she did though as hesitant as she was she thought maybe this band of wolves would be kind and accept her for the way she was. She agreed to help, bringing joy to the male wolf. She remembered the look he got when she agreed, his blue eyes glimmering with hope and his tail wagging so happily, a moment and face she'd never forgot, no matter what.
Feather-Whisker had made her decision up by the time she made it back to her packs hallow. She would go with them, not like anyone in her pack would care. She decided to take in the last sights of her birthplace. The old sandy hallow were tidy, caves lining the edges and walls, some holes dug into the dirt as dens. She had seen the inside of some of them, many were kept tidy and clean, with leaves used as bedding and old bones scattered inside most of them. She never had a den of her own she decided sleeping out on a rock was much better. Once the night fell and everyone had gone to bed, the she-wolf had got up and left the hallow quickly and silently.
Feather-whisker in the dead of night, under the moonlit sky met the male wolf she had encountered earlier in the same spot as before. This time she got a name out of the wolf, Obsidian. Such a odd name to her but she liked it, Obsidian..like the ore you'd find somewhere near volcanos. She followed the wolf back to his temporary base, a little wary of the other wolves but she introduced herself. Telling them she knew a good way to get to the glaciers. In the morning the 9 wolves would begin their journey again and for Feather-Whisker a new beginning and a wonderful journey for herself awaited. A life she would be glad she never missed.
