Biography
Frog shook his head,
"Help her! Why are you watching!" He screamed. Sun looked up to him, his clouded eyes looking like marbles in the moonlight. He shook his head, speaking softly,
"I can do no more for her."
He voice shook and his body trembled.
"No! Dove please!" His mate lay there, her once beautiful pale fur, now matted and disheveled. She blinked the mucus from around her eyes. Staring at Frog as though to say something she opened her mouth, her tongue awfully pale, and her throat swollen and red. Her eyes suddenly widened and her body heaved in a coughing fit. Sun looked to Frog,
"You need to go." He said calmly, resting a paw on her back.
Frog snarled,
"I'm not leaving her!"
Behind him, Stag spoke, Frog jumped, startled to hear the senior's voice.
"It'll be more painful to see her in pain."
Frog whipped around,
"No!"
Stag's gaze rounded sympatheticly.
Frog dropped his gaze to the ground as the coughing finally stopped. The air was too still, he knew it was over.
He collapsed at Dove's side, wailing to the sky. Sun sat respectfully his blind eyes on the ground while Stag moved to comfort the younger wolf.
Frog shook his mate, willing her to wake up,
"Please!"
He cried,
"It's not over! We didn't get to hunt together, we never-"
His voice cracked as he broke down again.
"Please, not yet."
He whispered softly, the cool air did not answer, only sitting silently.
Frog watched the Hunting Party make their way into camp. Their jaws were filled with plumb and juicy prey. Normally he would've been celebrating, but he couldn't bring himself to move away from Dove's still corpse. The only wolves who knew what happened to Dove were Stag, Sanity, Breeze, and Sun. Now as Fox, Gaze, Ghost and Stork approached he knew, everyone would know Dove's fate. He felt like screaming to the skies again, but his throat was raw and dry. His wet eyes flicked to the hunting party, Stork, their only surviving pup's eyes were wide. Frog felt his heart sink. He looked to his father, running to him as though she was still a pup. He sunk his head into his mother's chest fur, he was silent, but Frog could feel his heavy breathing, matching his own. Stork's leg buckled and he laid down beside his mother. Frog had tried his best to groom her fur and make her presentable, despite Sun warning him of getting sick. Stork turned his white orbs, so much like his mother's, to Frog. Frog could nearly see every detail of his mate reflected in his son. Her light fur, her carefree white eyes, the marbles skin on his nose. He choked back a sob, hardly noticing the pack Gathering around Dove's still body.
Sanity stood at the head, he cleared his throat. Silencing the quiet and respectful murmurs around him. His gazed around the clearing, his eyes lingering sympatheticly on Frog and Stork he spoke,
"I speak these words so that the Wind, Sky, and Earth may hear me now. Dove Fluttering From Tree, your mortal time with us has reached its end, as your soul moves on let us bring you on one last journey. To your final resting place."
Sanity raised his head, letting out a deep howl. Stork followed, his voice cracking, the pack followed. Frog could only stare. His voice was too raw to form any form of sound, instead he stared at his mate's body. The sun was setting over the treeline now, and the howling began to die down.
Frog reached down to touch Dove's cheek with his nose.
"May your run freely with the Ancestral Pack of Stars."
He whispered hoarsely.
He watched Fox and Breeze take Dove's body away.
He looked up to the stars beginning to show in the sky,
"Please take care of her."
(If you're wandering 'Hey but Stork's mom is still alive! It's because in my pack's lore when a wolves leaves our pack(Not including chasing) through any other means I roll a dice to decide what happened to them lore-wise. Ofc I don't waste time doing this if the wolf in question isn't really important to the lore)
