While Ice Runner was patrolling the newly explored grasslands, she noticed a dark shape walking along the hills. It was difficult to see who it was, especially with the small amount of light and the snow. She walked closer to the shape to make sure it was not going to be a danger to the pack. When she was finally able to see the details of the shape, she noticed it was a brown wolf. There was this weird and interesting pendant that hung from the wolf's neck. It seemed to be covered in a blue fire which made Ice Runner feel warry, and yet, she was pulled in by the light. When she confronted the wolf, they said nothing. The brown wolf was very quiet and did not answer any of the questions about who they were. It seemed like they were also studying Ice Runner. From their expression, they had the same curiosity about the white wolf that Ice Runner had about them. Eventually, they spoke, "My name is Zara." they said in a kind of calming voice that seemed to be coming from their mouth, but also from inside Ice Runner's mind. Ice Runner asked the wolf why they were there, this time, the wolf seemed to have a reaction, a kind of worried look on their face that disappeared as soon as Ice Runner blinked. There was a moment of silence before, "I want to join your pack." Zara responded, this time it was not a calming voice, but a voice hinted with concern and fear. Ice Runner was startled by their forthright personality and the sudden question. "I... I can't let you stay right away." Ice Runner said to the wolf. Though she would have let Zara into the pack within a second any other day, there was a weird aura that seemed to encompass the area around the wolf. "I must join your pack." the brown wolf said before walking away through the snow towards the camp. Ice Runner ran after her, but there was no stopping this new wolf, so she just decided to keep an eye on this "Zara".
One night, the news of Waning Moon's death rang through the clearing as if a flock of geese was suddenly let go and landed on everyone's head. All the wolves in the Shrouded Pack walked as if their fur was soaked and they were being pulled to the ground. But this was a great night for Zara. The power from this death allowed her to transform back into herself. Her necklace had not worked for so long, she started to think it was broken. But finally, she was standing there with her blue and purple fur, just like she had in the lands where she lived. Plus, no one noticed. Well, of course they were sad because of Waning Moon, but they continue to look at Zara as if she was normal. Just what she wanted. Cave's Shadow also changed just as she planned. She could live here peacefully and use this world to raise her pups before bringing them back.
She didn't have a chance. She didn't realize she aged differently there. It's her turn to go back, but she couldn't get her pups. Her only hope is that they could find their way home on their own. Now, she would travel back and tell the wolves of her world about the wolves of this one. Next would be the invasion…
